The first might well describe a genuine bug. It refers to the
top/bottom arrows that appear in menus when they are too long to fit
onto the screen; the reported behaviour is that the menu length is fine
but the arrows appear and you have to scroll up/down to see all

I just thought I'd add that I'm running Intrepid right now and I'm
experiencing no problems with audio - the new kernel seems to work just
fine with the Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard. The only way I was able to
resolve the bug on Hardy was to recompile with the mentioned patch.

Hello Caspar,
I can confirm that is is still an issue with an up to date Hardy
installation. Just installed a fresh Hary and pulled "linux-
image-2.6.24-19-xen" (well in fact took "linux-xen") from the
repositories. When rebooting into xen now I run into the 3ware related
error described here: htt
Setting the system to ALSA or Pulseaudio is done with System ->
Preferences -> Sound. Please answer each of these questions:
1) Change "Sound Events" and "Music and Movies" to "Pulseaudio". Press Test.
Does the sound play?
2) Load fretsonfire. Does it work, or does the same crash occur?
3) Change
new kernel, still pauses:

This could be a wrong input format (try rtp://@ instead of udp://@). But
it sounds like packet loss, i.e. overflowing socket receive buffers. You
can check with netstat.
Unfortunately, this would be a performance issue. Without access to the
stream, it's virtually impossible to track down and fix.

Anyway. Please poke vmware inc. I am (and probably most other people) not very
willing to spend time on investigating how this closed source application
actually tries to get the resolution to fit the window size.
