Thanks for finding a reasonable fix to this problem. The root culprit is likely
that during two- and three-finger taps, many touchpad drivers lose track of
which finger is the tracking one. This results in sudden jumps of the
pointer, which due to the MaxTapMove logic cancels the tapping action.

The FN-keys for sony vaios are not linked to acpi, but linked to the
module sony-laptop. As its developper wrote on his wiki, the Fn-keys are
now mapped through HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). So it is normal
that there is no acpi event at all. Concerning the brigthness support

Hey Sebastian
I see where you are coming from but, the fact remains that there is 'NO
BUG TO FIX'. All that is required is that the old driver is re-instated
in the basic build - something that works does not need fixing - a heap

Right I'm doing a bit of leg work on this. Reverting back these packages
to these revisions brings back graphics and keyboard input:
xserver-xorg-core_1.5.1-1ubuntu2
xserver-xorg-input-evdev_2.0.99+git20080912-0ubuntu2
I'll be back with more info if I can find it.

I think this bug is valid again. Since in intrepid afaik murrine is
default (at least it is now). So I think it is important for usplash to
match colors!

My (046d:0850) QuickCam Web still does not work with Intrepid Beta Live-
CD (amd64).
Looking at the list (http://lwn.net/Articles/291036/) of webcams that
were included in the 2.6.27 kernel, 046d:0850 was not included.
Does anyone know someone we can contact to point out this missing
driver?
