I have about the same problem on a T60p with FireGL V5250 and using the
standard drivers (radeon) on Intrepid. Upon resume I get bars of
corruption below the upper gnome panel and above the lower gnome panel.
I can post a screenshot later, it is 100% reproducable.
Sadly, fglrx won't let me
With some of updates of intrepid, xorg.conf started working.

Remove the package language-pack-*-base. Replace * with whatever language

I'm running DG45ID with BIOS version 0079 (flashed it about two weeks
ago, barely days before version 0081 came out). I'll test with BIOS
version 0081 (perhaps later today) to see if it fixes the grub delay
issue. The version 0081 changelog says Added patch for the issue of
GATE A20 can not open.
apparently, this bug happens less frequently now, but still happens.
