I can also confirm this bug in ubuntu 8.10. with kernel 2.6.27-7.
Just use something like pico, gedit or eclipse to modify a file. It
fails i guess using this save safe method of saving files, but I can
edit files directly in the shell without problems. Unfortunately it is a

Hi.
Sorry, I forgot to update. I think it has something to do with
AWT_TOOLKIT variable. In past, it was recommended (I don't know if it
still applies, I don't use compiz anymore) to set this variable to
MToolkit due to Compiz issues with Java gui apps. I forgot this variable
in /etc/environment.
I can reproduce this.

switchspell requires a gtkspell that is linked to aspell, while Ubuntu's
is linked to enchant. This should be fixed in Purple Plugin Pack 2.4.0.

Thanks, I was afraid that I am the stupid one. If you take a look to the
sourcecode of the raised page, It doesn't have anything special just a
window.print command. Perhaps because of the style of opening the page
(window.open and parameters) it happens?

You need to enable the intrepid-proposed repository to get 53-1ubuntu13.
To do this, go to System - Administration - Software Sources. In the
updates tab, make sure that intrepid-proposed is checked.
