I can confirm this. Pulling the ethernet cable plug doesn't make the

I didn't have the file /etc/asound.conf as well, I just created a new one with
the contents above. (If you had this file with something in it, you should just
append the contents above to the bottom of it.) This file is not specific to
the Intel sound device, it is generic for ALSA,
I thought you were done with sum Jimmy! :)
Anyways, I have upgraded to Intrepid since I had this problem. With
Intrepid's version (1.9.11-1) I have changed the resolution/color depth,
the usplash theme, menu colors, and recently checked one (1) misc boot
option all without any problems.

You can add new command into GDM menu. Just add this lines to /etc/gdm/gdm.conf

I'm seeing a very similar behavior in Epiphany 2.24. I recently left
Firefox 3 as my default browser for Epiphany and I'm able to start
typing and see both my bookmarks and history available. The presentation
isn't the same as Firefox's, but the data is definitely there.

I recently purchased a generic Twin USB gamepad. I am running Ubuntu
8.10. At first, the gamepad wasn't recognized at all. I eventually

No pld-linux here. I'm running kubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10) on a desktop.
I don't have pulseaudio at all, so most bugs describing similar symptoms are
not relevant to my case.
This bug is the closest I could find.
My hardware uses an intel audio chip:

different hintstyle issue
I am unable to verify this issue as yakuake does not behave like that
for me. Is there any further information you can provide that might
help? What happens if you remove or rename the
~/.kde/share/config/yakuakerc file and then log out, log in, again? Will
it remember it then?
