Tryed blanking the problem disc with Windows Vista. Correct work with
blanking operation.
When the dvd+rw disc is blanked, cdrecord writing correct the disc, but

I have spent some time with this bug my solution was to remove cups-pdf, then
create a directory ~/PDF.
I then reinstalled cups-pdf and was able to print to pdf first time.
I didn't have to change permissions on /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf or ~/PDF
this time. it just worked. Hope this helps.

Hello, I recently experienced a different type of crash: no kernel panic this
time, but system hung. The atteched Xorg.0.log file reported the following
error:

The latest Ubuntu change was only a rebuild and Maintainer field, it's
ok to sync. It builds fine in jaunty pbuilder.

Fabio, did you try both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version?
My MacBook Pro is a Core Duo, so it only supports the 32 bit version. It
started to work recently (jaunty). Intrepid didn't work.

As far as I'm concerned, that error didn't appeared since Hardy Heron on my
laptop (Acer Aspire WSMI 1802 / 1800 series). And it never appeared with my
other pc's (ranging from old Pentium II / III and recent Core2Duo's).
I remain convinced (imho) that the cause was not purely kernel related,
This bug was fixed in the package base-installer - 1.98ubuntu2
