Firefox 3.0.8. However after Firefox updated to version 3.0.10 the bug

You can get around this by using the pulse server. The error message
suggests that the problem is in the shm module and the server doesn't
use shared memory.

It has nothing to do with upgrading. It's a problem where damage
isn't getting picked up. It's a problem in the package. Clean
install or not. I don't think refreshing the entire screen is a
sufficient workaround either for the most part. It's bad enough that
you can't set compression options

You didn't explain what the Ubuntu changes were and why they can be
dropped, are you sure this is a sync and not a merge? Also, libgnet-dev
is in Universe so a sync right now would cause gcompris to FTBFS. It is
helpful to test build packages from Main in a Main-only chroot or run
