Sorry, I missed the fact that the patches were supposed to be applied
together. I installed the kernel (which caused dpkg to make a fuss,
since it's now out-of-date) alongside the Xorg driver, and it works

I agree that cut, copy, paste delete is what you do in a file browser

to remove firefox-3.5 entirely and to reinstall it from scratch. This is

it wants to search for a codec to play the file. If I allow that, a

I opened bug #390633 for intel freeze in Karmic when doing blank
screen.
Thanks for all the help, I think this issue is resolved for Jaunty and I
hope it doesn't come back for Karmic.

ewgray, this is veeery strange, because I changed my mouse for a Basic
Microsoft USB mouse too and now everything is just fine! So, the problem
occurs only with PS/2 mice. And it's more strange, because I always use
this PS/2 mouse, with other versions of Ubuntu, with this same
By changing the clocksource to jiffies, the problem disappears on my notebook
with my bluetooth 1.1 mouse. With the default clocksource hpet the problem is
permanent.
I am using 2.6.30 kernel from kernel.org with timer frequency 250Hz.
