I just installed tuxmath and tuxtype. I did not have a problem with
either one. I also tried tuxpaint for about 15 minutes without any
segmentation faults.
I did update the OS with aptitude. Here is what I did on the command line:

- launch ccsm
- disable "desktop switcher" plugin
- re-enable it

I just got seg faults on three more occasions just now. Each time I was
using the foam magic tool. From the main screen, I clicked the button
on the left labeled magic. Then I selected foam on the right. Within a
few seconds the app crashed.

with Karmic., from the tests i've made with Jaunty 64bits LiveCD and

did, /etc/X11/core wasn't saved.
There have been some updates since last I tried this, so I'm gonna see if

Are you sure you didn't delete the gdm.conf-custom file manually?
I cannot confirm this bug:
*) Purged GDM 2.26 (including all GDM related files a file search returned)
*) Installed GDM 2.20.10-0ubuntu5, /etc/gdm contained the (empty)
gdm.conf-custom
*) Used gdmsetup to enable autologin, gdm.con
I've just reproduced yet again, with the broken drive removed. There are
two good drives, and I've used 'Use entire disk' on sda.
It looks like this is a "duplicate" of #260001 (ubiquity crashed with
InstallStepError in configure_bootloader() ).
However, unlike that bug, I'm using the 'Use entir
I should also note that the crash notification appeared at least a
minute into the live desktop session ...

I have had a similar problem, though I'm not sure it has to do with xorg.
I get kernel error messages in /var/log/messages every time this happens,
something like this (not always the same stack trace):

Sebastien: I will do that once you tell me how to get apport to trap the
crash. I have apport enabled all the time and usually it does it's work,
but here it doesn't seem to notice that nautilus crashed. That's why I
used gdb and ubuntu-bug.
