ALSA works (flashplugin, mplayer with alsa output, alsamixer etc.). Pulseaudio
shows no real output devices (Sound Preferences) so Null Output is selected.
I've upgraded 9.04 to some alpha 9.10 and it is like this since then.

Attached is a trivial monkey patch against an installed toolkit.jar
which simply replaces the separator between the language and region
codes from dash to underscore -- just unpack the jar file, patch -p0
inlineSpellCheck.patch, zip back together and replace the system

unable to play sound from the .mov files created by my Nikon Coolpix

the speakers to answer a phone call and forgot

You should be able to do that right after pluggin in the drive. After an
skdump invocation you need to unplug/replug the drive to reinitialize
it.

It might or might not yield anything helpful, but someone might try
running with with -v eit,siparser (either one or both) logging turned
on overnight. Might produce some really large log files, so be sure to
turn it off in the morning!

This doesn't look to me like a bug, but more like intended
functionality: NetworkManager will prefer wired connections when they
are made available. A workaround to this is to manually specify settings
for an interface in /etc/network/interfaces, which will let
NetworkManager ignore the interface.

Karmic my Edimax Wiress USB dongle has failed to be picked up by Network
Manager in Gnome.
Before I had no problems with it workling very robostly.
