Unticking LDAP server should mean you don't get LDAP lookup anymore.
Except that Kmail doesn't seem to pick up on LDAP changes until after
restarting the application. Does LDAP continue to work after you
restart?

I believe this is an actual bug. Running jockey-gtk from
System-Administration-Hardware Drivers ignores any proxy setup
specified in synaptic, and there is no visible mechanism for setting a
proxy in the jockey UI.
A workaround is to have proxy setups in environment variables:

If I understand this correctly mounted drives are shown on desktop, regardless
of where the actual mountpoint resides. If you try mounting it under
/media/somedrive it'll still show up on the desktop. This is much the same way

will gracefully handle the transitions.

way I started ssh forwarding: for vino server on remote a.b.c.d, I used to run

antistress, I'd definitely say B. Part because A isn't possible (as far as I
know) and it wouldn't make sense in all applications (especially if they use
custom print management).
But, maybe we should keep the Print as file as a backup function where the
application designer didn't think the
