OK, I've just tried all this again.
First of all, I have reason to believe that this might be partly or
even entirely a display issue (ie: to do with how the desktop UI is

Secondly, and rather bizarrely, Rhythmbox seems to be refusing to
create a logfile at all today, so no new

Problem is that Ubuntu kernel fails to initialize radeon kernel module.
Then failure path has null pointer reference which causes the visible
error message.
Can someone add this to the kernel bugs?
Work around for users hacing this error is to boot older kernel that did

Not a fix, but help. I used Hirens 10.1. There is bootable XP there, I
enabled wireless while it was booting using switch on laptop. After that
it was enabled in linux. Hope you add support soon.

First, your printer is not only a PostScript printer but also a PDF
printer, therefore it prints foo-in.ps unfiltered, which is a PDF file.
Second, if you print unfiltered with lp -o raw ... answers of the
printer get somewhere buried in the error_log, if you send files to the
printer with nc,
I have checked and the page logging code should not get inserted into
the PostScript output by foomatic-rip. Seems to be an upstream bug in
foomatic-rip.

We were able to compile the util-linux-ng 2.17 into Karmic Koala and it seems
that the problem with the spaces in the label is solved. We tested also with a
Kobil device.
Hopefully the tools will make the way into the next beta!
Release Note:
Looks like the partial distribution upgrade cleared up the package
problem for me (i386). Should have never appeared, though. This is not
stuff for the faint of heart.

Today's upgrade to grub-common and grub-pc 1.98~20100128-1ubuntu3 first
triggered a debconf dialog for grub-pc, which asked for the device to
install grub2 on, where I chose /dev/sda. Then the same warning about
embedding area too small appeared as previously posted.
