Because Ubuntu will use the latest kernel on reboot and thus it will
allow to delete the previously used kernel.
In case the latest kernel has a bug which can be discovered manu weeks
after its first use, the user should be able to use the latest kernel
which had no bug within a few minutes.

The only thing broken about the term wastebasket is that it's not a
term in common use in the UK. Bin and Recycle Bin are the two

- when using the netbook remix in live session mode I don't get any
menus/icons either, but I do get a decent error message saying sorry,
netbook launcher closed unexpectedly.
- It is a dual-boot system with xp and UNR.
- I can get icons on the desktop and a desktop
importance for this bug is low? multisession is a very basic feature...

I cannot confirm this bug. When I follow your instructions all I still see an X
emblem on top of the 'private' folder. There are no lock emblems on any
directories in the home directory of my equivalent of user2.

Actually, it works fine when launched by remote e.g. via SSH with X11

Actually, this morning xserver-xorg-video-intel have been upgraded and

in gtick properties.
