On my Dell 1564 laptop the F2 button turns on/off the wireless card.
While trying to launch the run dialog by pressing Alt+F2 the wireless
was turned off, I pressed the same combination to turn it back on and

sudo aptitude install libwxgtk2.8-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev libpng3
and then build Erlang/OTP from the source, it will work for you.
But standard Erlang packages in Ubuntu won't run any application with
WxWidgets GUI...
Could you try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at

gtick still doesn't work for me, and it will need a big work to make it
compatible with pulseaudio.
So, I've wrote a little metronome compatible with pulseaudio.
It's not accurate like gtick, and especially if the PC is loaded.

triaged is clearly inappropriate: Buttons artwork is so more symetric,
so changing gconf makes this look very bad.
So the solution may be to change buttons to make them symetric again for
users being able to change default
you might want to consider being respectful and reading the code of

mostly volunteers who do work for free there, calling other people or

The odd part about this is that I can run individual programs through x
just fine. I just can't startx.

I tried the workaround on the Plymount didn't change anything. This has
got to be a X prob.
I killed GDM and ran startx and it wouldn't start and here is the log
for it.

So it's been a few months since the last post. Any solutions?
Currently i'm hesitating complete ( cold turkey ;) ) switch just because of
this thing. The rest of my hardware is very well supported, but this makes the
card reader i use very often completely useless.
