[Bug 584099] [NEW] It takes two clicks to close the Getting Things GNOME! window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gtg PROBLEM Clicking on the 'X' in the upper-left corner of the Getting Things GNOME! window does not close it. It takes two clicks to make it disappear. HOW TO REPRODUCE 1. Activate the notification area plugin. 2. Set GTG to load on startup, in the notification area. 3. Launch Getting Things GNOME! from the Applications menu, Docky or Do (probably any method other than clicking the notification area icon and selecting "View Main Window," although those three were tested). 4. Attempt to close the GTG window by clicking on the 'X' in the upper-left hand corner. 5. Note that the window is still open. 6. Click on the 'X' a second time to close the window. Steps 1 and 2 may not be required to reproduce the bug, but are included here for completeness. [Bug 578167] Re: [i845g] Blank screen problem on login, logout, power savings mode, tty switch etc
I also have these symptoms on my Inspiron 1100. When comparing X logs from a successful boot and one that came up blank, I noticed the following difference: < (II) intel(0): Output VGA connected --- > (II) intel(0): Output VGA disconnected Note that nothing was connected to the VGA output in either case. (anybody know how to configure X so that it ignores the external monitor connector?) As an experiment, another time it came up blank I tried connecting an external monitor and the login screen appeared on the external monitor and I was able to log in! However, there were still problems such as no mouse pointer. I also discovered that it is possible to (eventually) get a virtual console on the laptop display by randomly banging on ctrl-alt-(F1-F6) until one appears. None of this has anything to do with the looping/vertical lines problem. I've switched to a guest user. Now this file: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47792962/empty-sheet.xls opens fine _the first time_, but if I open it again, I only see "t" from the first sheet. [Bug 200813] Re: scim deinstallation breaks dead-key support
Salut. I've tried both Karmic and Lucid with Wubi in Windows XP in Latinamerican Spanish. Keyboard works fine with all applications, _except_ Skype and Opera 10.01. In them i can use Ñ and ñ (tilde n) but not tilde vowels (á é í ó ú). In Spanish they are vital, but you can understand many things in a chat. In Opera i tried any posibility: font type, size, language... And it worked the same. The latest update in Opera resolve it, i don't know how. Skype haven't made any serious updating, it works wrong since the beginning because it had always been the same application (in Karmic and Lucid). I won't make any serious change in my system just for an application knowing that it will affect all the rest that work fine (OpenOffice and Gedit, for example). Now, in Lucid, i discovered a new "leg" of the bug: keyboard works well in Firefox but, if i open a secondary window, like a popup writing e-mail in GMail, it works exactly as in the old Opera and Skype. In the main window, accented vowels work perfectly. I don't want this to be contagious!!! I don't remember well, but it was the same in Jaunty and Hardy. So, please, solve it before it expands!! -- scim deinstallation breaks dead-key support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yep, the hollw line appears every time. It looks just like the screenshot in post#2. Removing $HOME/{.ooo3,.openoffice.org,.openoffice.org2} makes no difference. After fault-finding for a couple of days I came across this thread, and realised I was experiencing the same problem. My system was upgraded from Koala, but I'm sure the problem did not occur until some time after the upgrade (ie after an update). I've done a "quick'n'dirty" fix that fixes it by having upstart run a "telinit 2" 90 seconds after booting (details below) - so it appears that init never sees the entry into run level 2 (and its not in utmp?) and so doesnt fire off the relevant jobs. In my case, atd (from upstart) and cups (from System-V rc2.d) were failing (as well as others). Here's some output which shows what's happening: $ runlevel unknown sfra...@sierra:~$ od -x /var/run/utmp 000 0007 033a 7474 3779 020 040 303a 6673 6172 060 6573 0072 100 303a 120 * 520 55c8 4bf7 7fd2 0008 540 * 600 0007 0568 7470 2f73 0030 620 640 302f 6673 6172 660 6573 0072 700 303a 302e 720 * 0001320 55d5 4bf7 4f89 0005 0001340 * 0001400 sfra...@sierra:~$ ps ax|egrep "atd|cups" 1415 pts/0S+ 0:00 egrep atd|cups sfra...@sierra:~$ initctl list|egrep "atd|rc" rc stop/waiting atd stop/waiting .wait the 90 secondsthen re-check $ runlevel N 2 sfra...@sierra:~$ od -x /var/run/utmp 000 0007 033a 7474 3779 020 040 303a 6673 6172 060 6573 0072 100 303a 120 * 520 55c8 4bf7 7fd2 0008 540 * 600 0007 0568 7470 2f73 0030 620 640 302f 6673 6172 660 6573 0072 700 303a 302e 720 * 0001320 55d5 4bf7 4f89 0005 0001340 * 0001400 0002 007e 0001420 0001440 7e7e 6572 6f62 0001460 746f 0001500 2e32 2e36 0001520 3233 322d 2d32 6567 656e 6972 0063 0001540 * 0002120 5602 4bf7 4dd9 0003 0002140 * 0002200 0001 0032 007e 0002220 0002240 7e7e 7572 6c6e 0002260 7665 6c65 0002300 2e32 2e36 0002320 3233 322d 2d32 6567 656e 6972 0063 0002340 * 0002720 5602 4bf7 7669 0003 0002740 * 0003000 0006 058f 7474 3479 0003020 0003040 0034 4f4c 4947 0003060 004e 0003100 * 0003520 5602 4bf7 0003540 * 0003600 0006 0594 7474 3579 0003620 0003640 0035 4f4c 4947 0003660 004e 0003700 * 0004320 5602 4bf7 0004340 * 0004400 0006 059c 7474 3279 0004420 0004440 0032 4f4c 4947 0004460 004e 0004500 * 0005120 5602 4bf7 0005140 * 0005200 0006 059e 7474 3379 0005220 0005240 0033 4f4c 4947 0005260 004e 0005300 * 0005720 5602 4bf7 0005740 * 0006000 0006 05a2 7474 3679 0006020 0006040 0036 4f4c 4947 0006060 004e 0006100

[Bug 582879] Re: Merge database does not work
I can confirm this bug in 9.10. I could be fixed in 10.04 or in the dev distro branch. A back port would be nice. There coudl be an upstream patch, plugin or scirpt that could solve the problem. Possilbe work around solutions: Hide db files, or hints through renaming or moving of special files to get the photos to merge. Write a script that merges the two databases and directory trees. Change the directory f-spot uses in preferences to the old, mobile, or smaller database. If the old database and photos come up then export them then switch back to the main database and re-import. Other ideas: Photos from many cameras and certainly most d-slrs often have serialized numbers which could be used along with file fingerprints to identify a new source location automagically. This should be a feature of the main program but it could be a plug-in using createdb and locate to index and find photos and heal the database when photos exist as only data and thumbnails. The same plugin could offer another view to see all photos on the system or in specified file trees without interacting with the database. -- Merge database does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582879 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It can't be symlinked since ttf-opensymbol would then need to depend on that package it linked to, but complete removal is probably ok for this case. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Milestone: None => ubuntu-10.04.1 ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Chris Cheney (ccheney) -- ttf-opensymbol package grows 6x in size (1.5Mb) in Ubuntu 10.04 because of included OOo changelog.gz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
