I have no idea how or when my ntp server got set but I had been noticing for
some time that my clock wasn't correct. I finally investigated the problem
tonight and found many lines of the following in the daemon.log
ntpd_initres[]: host name
Did some more testing. alsa 1.0.23 works great. With arecord and aplay no
problems at all. This was a pulse-audio problem. Solved this by modifying
/etc/pulse/daemon.conf. Assume problem was caused by latency in this kind of

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the ntfs drives I mount via
fstab always gets randomized.
I have it set in this order: C-D-F-G. But for every boot, they get
shuffled.
At first I used the following setup:

Cool, I now have microphone 1, microphone 2, and microphone 3.
Microphone 1 seems to be the digital mic. It would be nicer if it were

No, this is in natty only. In maverick it is LADSPA and DSSI audio
plugins so there is no problem.

I'm running the proposed kernel 2.6.35-24-generic-pae for about 2 week
now. It seems to fix the hibernate/suspend problem. I still had one or

In Lucid I was able to run garmin_save_runs as an ordinary user, but in
Maverick I have to use sudo. I'm wondering what changes have brought
about this change in behavior. I think the source code hasn't changed
much, so there is probably a change in system policies.
