Same thing on Fresh Natty alpha2 64 bits : 2 of my 3 internal HDD drives
(the 2 ones where Ubuntu OS is not installed and have only one full
partition) appear in left dock with gray ? icon.
I do not need these icons, as I have the Place menu to put my favorite
folders, it takes part of the dock
just had it on my dad's machine. No SSD here. Maybe SSDs make it only more
likely.
However, I did install a new graphic card (Nvidia GTX 570). Not sure if I had
it before, though.

AR9170 devices. carl9170 driver is present in linux kernel since 2.6.37.
It is the successor of ar9170usb driver and should be supported as a
firs choice.

Right, still in alpha2 64 bits.
First click on Places opens a window which shows well the favorite
folders.
But when I hover them with mouse, there are replaced with icons and
names of recent launched files.

And if I click on the replaced icon, it opens the file, not the
expected favorite folder.

I have the same problem, not on Chromium, but on other apps like
Gpodder, Thunderbird, Firefox 4...
For those applications, I selected Keep in launcher to always have the
icon in Unity left dock, even if program is not launched.
Moreover, I added these apps in the Startup applications, to have
