[Bug 744674] Re: cups upgrade required page gives an unfunctional ipv6 URL
This bug was fixed in the package cups - 1.4.6-4 --- cups (1.4.6-4) unstable; urgency=low * debian/patches/fix-broken-ipv6-uris.dpatch: When accessing the web interface via http: (unencrypted) and one does an adminstrative task which requires encryption, on upgrading to https: (encrypted) mode IPv6 IP addresses without [...] get inserted into the URL and the browser cannot parse the URL correctly. Fixed with a patch from upstream (LP: #744674). * debian/rules: Convert cups.png (CUPS logo for test page) to RGBA, as the original 8-bit-per-pixel color map format leads to a crash in libpng. This prevents the CUPS test page and the banner pages from printing (LP: #710881). * debian/control: Add ImageMagick to the build dependencies, as it is needed for the CUPS logo image conversion. -- Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com Fri, 01 Apr 2011 11:06:02 +0200 ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/744674 Title: cups upgrade required page gives an unfunctional ipv6 URL -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 644644] Re: Frequent PA crashes during playback - pa_stream_cork() failed: Connection terminated and pa_stream_writable_size(): Connection failed
** Description changed: + * + SRU Justification + * + + Justification: This is a medium-to-high impact bug as PulseAudio crashes, causing non-working playback and recording. It is especially troublesome for machines with low CPU power (e g Intel Atom based machines). + Regression risk: Low - the patches are both in Natty and upstream since 2-3 months back and no regressions have been reported. + Howto: please apply the maverisk-sru.debdiff patch to gst-plugins-good-0.10. + Test: on a troublesome machine - pulseaudio won't crash anymore after this patch has been applied. To verify that PulseAudio is crashing for the same reason as this patch fixes, take a PulseAudio verbose log (according to http://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log ) - in this crashing scenario, the log is filled with extreme amounts of Processing Rewind messages. + + * + Binary package hint: pulseaudio With the recent kernel and pa upgrades in Maverick I am seeing very frequent crashes in Totem trying to play back audio as well as video. The error messages in question always arrive together and are as follows: pa_stream_cork() failed: Connection terminated pa_stream_writable_size(): Connection failed The machine in question is an Asus EeePC 1002HA and the problem persists on both the USB attached speakers and the builtin HDA device. [Bug 747111] [NEW] Save to PDF: embeds JPEGs using /FlateDecode instead of /DCTDecode
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: inkscape A JPEG image is already compressed using /DCTDecode and can be embedded straight into an output PDF without altering or recompressing the content. In the example given, I used Inkscape for composition, placing an affine-transformed semi-transparent PNG image of a narwhale over a large JPEG background showing Big Ben and the London Eye. The input files were 1.2 MB and and 33 kB and the total output size of the PDF should ideally have been the same. Instead, the PDF output file was 8 MB and the inspecting it shows that /FlateDecode was being inefficiently used for the JPEG stream. Ideally JPEG streams should be output using /DCTDecode to retain the original compression efficiency and avoid any recompression. ** Affects: inkscape Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: inkscape (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: exporting pdf ** Also affects: inkscape Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747111 Title: Save to PDF: embeds JPEGs using /FlateDecode instead of /DCTDecode -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 740765] Re: nautilus crash: assertion failed: (NAUTILUS_IS_VIEW (view))
I don't think its' related to the actual change in 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu9, this merely seems coincidental to me. I can't see how this patch update could ever cause this assertion failure. This crashes in nautilus_window_disconnect_content_view(), in g_assert (NAUTILUS_IS_VIEW (view)); the passed view is not NULL, but apparently it is invalid. Unfortunately it is the only place in the stack trace whic exposes view. Does anyone happen to have a recipe how this can reliably be reproduced? I tried with closing windows, mounting several usb sticks and usb hard drives at once, copying files as user, copying files on the command line as root with sudo cp /etc/passwd /media/PittiUSB/, and so on, and nautilus never crashed. ** Summary changed: - nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall() + nautilus crash: assertion failed: (NAUTILUS_IS_VIEW (view)) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740765 Title: nautilus crash: assertion failed: (NAUTILUS_IS_VIEW (view)) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ah, I know, it's not due to that patch change, and not even because of 17_disable_locked_automounting.patch at all. Ok, turns out this is misfiled. I /do/ see the same painful behaviour in other programs too. [Bug 715165] Re: RDP connection to 2008 server farm (cluster) asks for login again
I have tried replacing the tsfarm with ts01, ts02 and so on. I noticed that the login works if I directly connect to the server that the tsfarm would choose to connect me to. [Bug 747130] [NEW] Constant i915 wakeups on idle desktop (regression)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Using compiz 0.9.4 on Natty Beta 1, I see constant i915 wakeups when the desktop is idling. This occurs whether running compiz in Unity or Ubuntu Classic desktop sessions. To test, I log in, disable wireless and open a single gnome-terminal window, in which I run powertop, then leave alone. Nothing on the screen is changing except powertop in the terminal. i915 interrupt always shows between 8 - 40 wakeups per second. It tends to hang around the 8-per-second mark, never dropping below, and frequently increasing to around 30. Compiz itself does not show up. At no point is there any interaction or visual change on the desktop except in the terminal window. I don't see this when running without compiz, in either Unity 2D or Ubuntu Classic (no effects). I also do not see any wakeups at all when performing exactly the same test on Maverick (using compiz version 0.8.6), so this is a power- sapping regression. The machine is an Intel Atom N450 with intregrated GMA3150 gpu. It's possible this is related to bug #681696, however in that bug it is compiz itself that causes the wakeups rather than i915. Also apparently that bug is fixed. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747130 Title: Constant i915 wakeups on idle desktop (regression) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
