When I look in sound settings I see two labels on the volume slider:
unamplified and 100%. I'm not exactly sure what 'unamplified' means, but
I know at that point my sound is effectively muted. That's a problem
because unamplified is at about 75% of bar, leaving few useful volume
settings.

This seems to be fixed. Currently the cut off for the background color
is 1600px which is as defined in the exhibit html - this value is most
likely sufficient for all standard resolutions.

The fix linked in #29 is better and easier. I don't like to have variable files
on / . Thats why we use seperate /var partitions ;)
This is the change to the upstart conf:
sudo sed -i 's+^start on starting mountall+start on mounted MOUNTPOINT=/var+'
