My friend uses Fallback mode and auto log-in. after installing updates
yesterday, it did error as described. I tried reinstalling from a

1. Change the udev rule to trigger on a different combination of
events. (I have an email somewhere discussing what exactly needs
done... I'll have to locate that again.) The possible drawback of

That time, the stray depth clear hit a Mesa batch buffer. With 3 clear
errors, let's presume this is the first and foremost the stray clear
that's causing the hangs.

i915_error_state from odd hang
This time I couldn't get the rest of the dump as cat BUGs in

The error-state looks ordinary and more importantly self-consistent.
There are not the tell-tales of recent bugs, so I currently have no
explanation for the hang. Can you please attach a few more error-states
to see if a pattern forms?

Ok. We can certainly do that then - but I'm confused that this hasn't
been reported before now. I understand there've been upgrade tests to
precise and this is the first incidence of a kdm crash.
So I'm not going to rush to judgement here.

Looking at your logs, this look like a version mismatch between package
on the media and packages on your local mirror.
You seem to have done the install using de.archive.ubuntu.com which may have
outdated packages explaining that failure.
Could you try installing with archive.ubuntu.com instead
I'm sorry but between the title and the description of your bug I can't figure
out what's wrong exactly.
Can you try to provide a better description of what happened during your
installation and what should have happened?
