There is a very simple workaround, that works automatically. I used an
8GB USB-stick to install Lubuntu on my netbook with only 4GB space. The
requirement of 4.4 GB disk space was okayed automatically. I assume that

I had the very same issue, and I managed to solve it by switching to
phonon-backend-vlc instead of the default phonon-backend-gstreamer. This
suggests that this is not a bug in minitube but much more likely in the
phonon-backend-gstreamer package.

@Andres - thanks, it would be nice to be able too test the wake-on-ARP,
so putting this in a PPA looks like a great idea.

My machine has similar problem (Asus UX31, using: i915.powersave=1
i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.semaphores=1).

Your usb_modeswitch log from a successful switch is indicating that your
installation is using libusb 0. This follows from the fact that the
name of the bound driver (usb-storage) is reported. libusb 1 is not
able to do this.
