I have a Kindle Fire which is not recognised in new distro at all. USB
connection is good for charging only. The Fire was connecting to my
laptop without issues in 11.04 & 11.10. My regular Kindle is connecting
as expected and is now automatically opening media software which id did
not before.
Thank you for reporting this bug to make Ubuntu better. As you mention,
this is not a bug but rather a feature request, something which the
design team needs to approve and provide instructions. Hence I am
marking this bug incomplete, Best rest assured it shall be looked into.

I've find new information about this problem.
The /home/wife and /home/daugther and all folders and files have the
ower changed, so, my wife is owner of /home/daugther and viceversa.
I only did "sudo adduser wife" and "sudo adduser daughter", what
happened?

I tried installing with root privileges and turns out fine. Still the
installer should have been usable under normal user privileges.

dpkg had corruption and it took 4 days to fix it.

Yes running installer with sudo helps. But I think I've used QtSDK in
Ubuntu 12.04 x64 in beta X time and it worked just fine.
