This bug affects me too, on a nearly clean Ubuntu 12.04 install.
However, I could not find a /conf/conf.d/cryptroot file as specified in
the second last post.
I am able to boot into the system. But system-config-lvm shows me that
/dev/mapper/... was renamed to /dev/dm-0.
The /dev/mapper/
