Just upgraded my virtualization hosts from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04.

Brightness control not working after latest
Same here on a Lenovo Thinkpad W510. The brightness sliider in settings
does not work as well as the hardware keys. I am using Nvidia drivers.
What is also interesting is that I rebooted 2 times before now and the
hardware keys did not even bring up the brightness slider overlay on the

I got same problem on ux31e and ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.2.0-22.
On syslog i found a lot of logs about Bad Header Length...

So, when i copy a big file (size ~ 3,7 Gb ) from home network

I seem to have this same problem, however, I have an issue severly
compounding it. In addition to the computer locking when the lid is
closed, sometimes the login screen doesn't appear. All I have is a
blank screen of my desktop. I haven't found a way to fix this or get
around it yet. Except
Sorry. My problem was that I had installed cpufreqd daemon in Presice. In the
configuration file (/etc/cpufreqd.conf) ondemand/conservative are disabled by
default. I purged the package and now everything works.
