Apparently the changes were introduced in Poppler 0.18 (at least it doesn't
compile on Crunchbang 11, based on Debian Wheezy, Poppler 0.18.4-3).
I'm going to try with a modified configure.ac with a test on 0.18.0 instead of
0.20.0.

I do accept that some python modules should not be loaded at the same
time, but I do not accept, that python's segfault should be a zsh issue.
IMHO python should catch such exceptions and exit gracefully with an
error message instead of to just segfault.

Hello Dave. I tested the new driver. It does not crash the kernel now
and the alps device shows up in `xinput list` , but the mouse pointer
does not move. I see activity in the syslog when I try to move the
pointer, but the pointer doesnt move at all. The buttons for left and
right click continue

specifies pdf filetype among others.

The way they works is very different: the kubuntu panel as the old unity
launcher was using the mouse pointer position, now we use the Xorg
Xfixes' pointer barrier feature that probably is not supported by these
virtual machines drivers.
So I think the issue should be fixed at xorg level, more
wijit, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However,

I am using Precise 64bit. Again, only apps I noticed this happening with are
Spotify and Matlab 2012a.
Appearance seems to be completely random though, sometimes restarting the app
helps, sometimes I have to log out of unity and log back in. But it's always
