The enhancement you describe is totally unnecessary if and when we fix
bug 748539, which is definitely a bug. When that's fixed, any
application going fullscreen on the second monitor will always hide the
panel etc. So this bug is at least Wishlist if not Opinion.

upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 instead where the bug is fixed already.
For 12.04 precise, look at the Compiz Core line which says Triaged,
meaning no fix has been applied to precise.

Hi there!
The same thing seems to happen with nvidia-settings. Within the menu
editor, the link is written in italics, and whenever I check the option
to include nvidia-settings in the system menu, it disappears again. Is
this the same bug?
