[Bug 1155852] Re: Computer Does not Suspend When Idle

2013-03-18 Thread dulbirakan
Tested with 3.9 RC3 kernel, the problem did not change.

** Description changed:

The computer fails to suspend by itself when left idle. Perhaps it has
something to do with pm-utils or with gnome-control-center failing to
  save changes to configuration.

To reproduce: Set the time out in power settings to 5 minutes and wait
for 15 minutes. The screen goes dark after 10 minutes but the computer
  keeps running...

[Bug 1156310] Re: xrandr detects too many displays

2013-03-18 Thread Till Kamppeter
I have reported the same symptoms earlier with an Intel Core i5 PC
running Quantal, bug 1029865. I have installed the kernel from comment
#7 also there and booted it, but that machine still shows the ghost VGA
display and due to that comes up with a 1024x768 login screen. I have
checked with uname -a that the fixed kernel is actually running.

Is the fixed kernel not applicable to Quantal? Are more components of
Raring needed (like X.org)? If so, I would try an upgrade to Raring.

The xrandr output is as follows:

--
till@till:~$ xrandr

[Bug 1156787] [NEW] recommend optional dependancies

2013-03-18 Thread Vincent Carmona
Public bug reported:

Hi all.

I am using the ppa package but the universe one has the same issue.
Is it possible to set the optional dependancies (unique 0.9, libnotify, GTK+
3.0, gcr, zeitgeist) as recommonded packages and not mandatory ones?
I would like to remove zeitgeist and midori is the only packaqe preventing me
and I would also like to keep midori.

[Bug 1156803] [NEW] [Xinerama] Mouse jumps to wrong monitor during Mouselook in games

2013-03-18 Thread CoolAcid
Public bug reported:

When using multiple monitors with Xinerama where a monitor exists above
the main monitor an issue arises using mouse look in games. This happens
in both native OpenGL (Stream) or Wine Games (World of Warcraft).

The game is running on the main monitor which is below a second monitor.
When mouse looking in game, the character will look up when ever using
mouselook. For a brief moment the mouse cursor will appear in the center
of the upper monitor.

My *guess* would be that the game requests the centering of the mouse
cursor, since there is a monitor above the main monitor, it centers it
in this view and xorg/xinerama does not take into account the extra
pixels to the main monitor.

Description:Ubuntu 12.10
Release:12.10

xorg:
  Installed: 1:7.7+1ubuntu4
  Candidate: 1:7.7+1ubuntu4

Proprietary Driver: amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-linux-x86.x86_64

[Bug 1156310] Re: xrandr detects too many displays

2013-03-18 Thread Till Kamppeter
I have tested your test kernel from comment #11 on both machines now and
get exactly the same results as with the kernel from comment #7. On the
laptop (bug 1156548) the problem is solved by both kernels and on the PC
(bug 1029865) the problem is not solved by both kernels.

[Bug 1156803] Re: [Xinerama] Mouse jumps to wrong monitor during Mouselook in games

2013-03-18 Thread CoolAcid
I should note, I created a new install of kubuntu 11.10, same AMD driver
and same Xorg.conf file and did not experience the issue.

** Tags added: apport-collected quantal

** Description changed:

** Description changed:

The Preseed documentation strategy seems to be primarily examples with

[Bug 1080701] Re: After 'Preparing to install Ubuntu' screen, raring installation hangs

2013-03-18 Thread mdalacu
AMD890FXchipset.
I also have this problem upgrading or clean install, it drops to busybox. I can
wait forever and type exit, same result, no disk drives in /dev except my
CDROM..
Kernel 3.8 does not see any of my HDDs. Kernel 3.5 works very well in Raring.
This kernel is a show stopper for me.
I have uploaded the output from lshw.
How can i help to investigate this problem further?

[Bug 902535] Re: Unable to print with Lexmark S400 series since upgrade to 11.10

So, looks like the plan was to close this bug and open a new one for the
older 08Z series (since Lexmark has produced working drivers for the
more recent S405). Has this new bug report been opened? I cannot find
it.
