Nathaniel: You need to boot to a kernel where your backlight doesn't
work, i.e. no special kernel patches and no passing acpi_osi=!Windows
2012. Then try to adjust the backlight several times. After that run
dmesg dmesg.txt in a terminal and attach dmesg.txt.

10.04 and where a script is provided to make a two-step upgrade to biolinux7 on
ubuntu 12.04. I had several trials for testing the upgrade via the script on
virtual machines without any problem.

I'm not sure why apport filed this under grub-installer since it appears
to have worked fine. The logs look like ubiquity was trying to do a
mass apt install rather than it's normal process of copying the live
system to the drive, and this failed due to broken/held packages.
