regarding the usb id it´s not an issue in the trusty kernel anymore
(besides that there is an issue with the firmware-nonfree), but the

** Description changed:
I have now reproduced this bug with suspend using only Xorg video
drivers and the latest kernel. The issue is that upon resume from
suspend, the computer kicks all the way down to the boot sequence and
cannot restore a session. A Kernal Oops is reported by apport
I can't participate directly in this bug anymore because I've done a
reinstall.
Having said that, the following configuration now *works* for me.

Update for Qt
I'm currently running kernel 3.13.0-5-generic which seems okayish. In
general, it seems the problem is intermittent. Sometimes on boot there
is no display, other times it boots fine.
