I have identified where the kernel is giving error when trying to load an
OMAGIC: lxr.linux.no/#linux+v3.13.5/arch/x86/ia32/ia32_aout.c#L260
It's just after the vm_brk.
Eg. vm_brk(0, 13048);
0 is the txtaddr and 13048 is the size of the sections TEXT and DATA together.

I finally managed to solve the issue.
As everybody pointed out, I first needed to remove the webupd8team ppas.
After that, I had to downgrade the ligblib library and that's what was
causing me a lot of trouble. The system didn't let me remove that

I separately test replace file in ftp and sftp(ssh) both same Proftpd
server and the same user(not root). The test by ftp, it can replace the
file no problem.
This sounds like bug 1291755, which should have been fixed with the
latest update to Mir 0.1.7. But also...

Looking at DpkgLog.txt file it looks like a whole slew of packages,
including the all-important ubuntu-desktop metapackage, were removed on
2014-03-13 around 23h00. It's not clear why these packages were
removed, but all the unity-2d packages were removed and compiz was not,
which is a little odd
