[Bug 1354839] Re: precise vagrant cloud-images still use raring HWE stack

2014-08-12 Thread Michael DePaulo
Keep in mind that these boxes do have the VirtualBox guest extensions
installed. The guest extensions are needed for being used with Vagrant.

If you have to revert to the precise HWE stack to make the guest
extensions work, that's fine with me.

[Bug 1309655] Re: freeipa-client-install points to wrong ntp.conf file

2014-08-12 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello lee-machine, or anyone else affected,

Accepted freeipa into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freeipa/3.3.4-0ubuntu3.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1312507] Re: rabbitmq-server fails to start on a IPv6-Only environment/epmd is not IPv6 enabled

2014-08-12 Thread James Page
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ Users of RabbitMQ in IPv6 environments are unable to stop/start/restart
rabbitmq.

+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ The fix for this issue is in erlang itself; enabling IPv6 support in epmd is
a compile time option so there is scope for regression. Testing should ensure
that existing IPv4 deployments of erlang tools do not regress with this change
(validated RMQ already against PPA packages).

[Bug 1355845] [NEW] partman/unmount_active is not preseedable

2014-08-12 Thread Jonathan Reed
Public bug reported:

The partman/unmount_active question is not preseedable. This is a
problem.

Due to some other d-i bug introduced in trusty, the mountmedia command
is extremely ... insistent, and when we re-install machines in an
unattended mode, it finds /dev/sda1 (a /boot partition) and insists on
mounting it on /media, even when anna/retriever is set to net-retriever.
This causes partman to complain about mounted partitions. I should be
able to pre-seed this question, but I can't, because it forces the seen
flag to false. It is a bit presumptuous of d-i to think that it knows
my installation environment better than I do: these are unattended
machines installed over the network, and any mounted partitions should
get overwritten. I do understand the desire not to accidentally
scribble over installation media, but at the same time, consider letting
sysadmins who know what they're doing preseed answers to questions here.
If you're concerned, introduce another debconf key
partman/disable_all_safety_checks or something that defaults to false.

For another example of people getting bitten by this problem, see:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2215103p=12977473#post12977473

[Bug 1355356] Re: App spread should not kill media

2014-08-12 Thread Michael Zanetti
Just for completeness about the youtube videos: The issue seems to be
that the scope opens a https site but the videos come in through http
only and the browser rejects the insecure content. This is know and will
hopefully be fixed soon. Changing the url to http:// allows you to test
playing youtube videos in the spread for now.

[Bug 1353947] Re: Hypervisor with QEMU-2.0/libvirtd 1.2.2 stack when launching VM with CirrOS or Ubuntu 12.04

2014-08-12 Thread Serge Hallyn
Sorry, when the table only had the two entries i drew some bad
assumptions from that, and I also missed the fact that hangs were in the
host kernel.

To be clear, running qemu 1.5 on the same host kernel has no issues with
any guest, while qemu 2.0 causes host kernel to hang (indefinately) with
some guests?

Then indeed disregard my comment #5.

Is this 100% reproducible, every time? Would you be able to bisect qemu
to figure out where the problem was introduced?

[Bug 1297218] Re: guest hangs after live migration due to tsc jump

2014-08-12 Thread Paul Boven
Andrey: the bug also occurs when not using '--copy-storage-inc'. I
originally encountered the bug on a pair of servers that share a
glusterfs filesystem. As part of the debugging effort, I took glusterfs
out of the equation to show that it is not the cause of the issue. My
test envirement is therefore currently setup with --copy-storage-inc,
but my production environment uses glusterfs, and has the same issue.

2014-08-12 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello damonjablons, or anyone else affected,

Accepted shutter into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shutter/0.90.1-0ubuntu1.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1355860] [NEW] View - Refresh (Ctrl + R) does not reload files from disk

2014-08-12 Thread cpburnz
Public bug reported:

In an older version of Meld, you could use View - Reload
(Ctrl+Shift+R) to reload the files being compared (e.g., one of the
files has since changed on disk). In Meld 1.8.4-1, the Reload option
has disappeared and the View - Refresh (Ctrl+R) does not reload the
files from disk.

Example
---

# In first shell.
$ echo 'Test'  test
$ echo 'Test2'  test2
$ meld test test2
# Sync the changes from `test` to `test2` and save.

# In second shell.
$ cat test
Test
$ cat test2
Test
$ echo 'Changed'  test2
$ cat test2
Changed

# Back in first shell with Meld.
# Click View - Refresh or press Ctrl+R, there will be no change. The file
`test2` will not reflect its change from containing Test to Changed.

[Bug 1308378] Re: Name resolving not working after 12.04 LTS - 14.04 LTS if /etc/resolv.conf was absent

2014-08-12 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Just in case some people find this bug and still see a similar problem:

It seems like if the original installation is 10.04 LTS, it's possible
that 12.04 LTS - 14.04 LTS will yield similarly non-working name
resolving. This is because in 10.04 LTS /etc/resolv.conf was a file, and
it was not modified into a symlink during 10.04 LTS - 12.04 LTS
upgrade. While this did not hurt during usage of 12.04 LTS, it starts to
break name resolving when the 12.04 LTS is further upgraded to 14.04
LTS.

[Bug 1355845] Re: partman/unmount_active is not preseedable

2014-08-12 Thread Jonathan Reed
And before someone bothers to point out that partman/filter_mounted is
preseedable, that doesn't help. All that does is tell partman not to
filter out mounted partitions. So if I set that to false, partman
doesn't display the warning, but will attempt to create a partition on a
mounted filesystem, which doesn't work. There is absolutely no way to
tell partman No, really, there should not be any local block devices
mounted. short of forcing things in an early_command, which is a fairly
large hammer.

[Bug 1355685] Re: Printing job fails with signal 11 in filter c2esp

2014-08-12 Thread Pascal De Vuyst
Looks like *cupsInkChannels is missing in your ppd /etc/cups/ppd
/KODAK-ESP-7200-Series-AiO.ppd:

D [11/Aug/2014:18:39:23 +0200] [Job 110] c2esp:1 : opening ppd

D [11/Aug/2014:18:39:23 +0200] [Job 110] PID 2763 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/c2esp)
crashed on signal 11.

If I create a file printer for the Kodak ESP 7200 *cupsInkChannels is
in my ppd and c2esp is not crashing, when removing *cupsInkChannels
from the ppd I also get crashed on signal 11.

Can you attach your /etc/cups/ppd/KODAK-ESP-7200-Series-AiO.ppd first, where
did you get this ppd?
Have you dist-upgraded this machine from an older Ubuntu release?
Try removing an reinstalling your printer queue or create a second queue to see
if that solves the problem.

[Bug 1355776] Re: WiFi shown as enabled in indicator while disabled in status bar

2014-08-12 Thread Alfonso Sanchez-Beato
** Summary changed:

- WiFi shown as enabled in indicator while enabled in status bar
+ WiFi shown as enabled in indicator while disabled in status bar

** Description changed:

After disabling WiFi and rebooting, WiFi appears as enabled in
  indicator-network and system settings.

This contradicts what is shown in the status bar (see attached
  screenshot).

WiFi interface exists, but it is down:

  # ip address
22: wlan0: BROADCAST,MULTICAST mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default
qlen 100
- link/ether 10:68:3f:7a:92:d5 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
+ link/ether 10:68:3f:7a:92:d5 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

While wifi RF is not blocked:

  # rfkill list
  0: phy0: Wireless LAN
- Soft blocked: no
- Hard blocked: no
+  Soft blocked: no
+  Hard blocked: no
  1: hci0: Bluetooth
- Soft blocked: no
- Hard blocked: no
+  Soft blocked: no
+  Hard blocked: no

Which is coherent with urfkill persistent state:

- # cat /var/lib/urfkill/saved-states
+ # cat /var/lib/urfkill/saved-states
  [ALL]
  soft=false

  [WLAN]
  soft=false
  ...

However, saved-states was before rebooting (after disabling wifi):

- ~# cat /var/lib/urfkill/saved-states
+ ~# cat /var/lib/urfkill/saved-states
  [ALL]
  soft=false

  [WLAN]
  soft=true
  ...

Difficult to say were exactly is the error, but apparently something is
  powering on WiFi.

This issue is especially apparent when you use Unity's scaling features in

My eyes like everything bigger, but it doesn't play well with this

it.

[Bug 920436] Re: [MIR] yodl

2014-08-12 Thread Felix Geyer
Another month later ...
I hope doing parts of the build offline to avoid proper build-dependencies is
not considered a permanent solution.

If it is a problem to promote these two packages please consider
dropping zsh from whatever seed that is pulling it into main.

[Bug 1354839] Re: precise vagrant cloud-images still use raring HWE stack

Michael, you're correct and I hadn't tested on trusty hwe kernel before
posting comment #2. I am working on a solution for a supported kernel
that works with the virtualbox guest dkms package.

[Bug 1354159] Re: [SRU] icehouse 2014.1.2 point release

2014-08-12 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Corey, or anyone else affected,

Accepted glance into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glance/1:2014.1.2-0ubuntu1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Thank you in
advance!
