I am/was also affected by this bug and can confirm that it is caused by
leftover files from a former sendmail installation.
Because of this, I'll add the sendmail package to the bug.
Reinstalling sendmail removed the bug.
Doing an apt-get purge on all sendmail-related packages also removed the

Sometimes global keyboard shortcuts like volume keys on multimedia
keyboard or Ctrl+Alt+T to open a new terminal, do not respond
immediately. They are buffered and respond after 15 seconds.
Started after I upgraded to 14.10
Occurs with Unity and Gnome Compiz.
Does not occur
Stopping and restarting the service 'glidepoint' also reactives the
touchpad temporarily. So I use
sudo service glidepoint stop; sudo service glidepoint start
as a work around. As the touchpad is disfunctional again after a few
minutes, this is really annoying.

Same here, on a desktop with 14.04 64 bit with default DE (Unity), using
a gtx 260 with the recommended proprietary and tested driver, with all
updates, using 2 external monitors.
I've tried turning off features/special effects in compiz to see if
there was any change but the problem still

I believe software updater opened the new bug report url for me. I am
running a do-release-upgrade to move from 14.04 to 14.10 but there were
errors. It seems like something went wrong with the configuration of
python3. That's really all I know I'm afraid.

14.10. Video playback is choppy from youtube, netflix, etc. I am
experiencing some of the same problems as #17, switching between
workspaces is slow on occasion. The worst problem is that the Dash is

package xserver-xorg-video-intel from 2.99.910-0ubuntu1 to
2.99.910-0ubuntu1.2. I have Intel i810e chipset and 14.04 Ubuntu. After
downgrading to the former 2.99.910-0ubuntu1 package, everything works
again.
