Stanislav Kukla, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.2.60 to 3.2.66 in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited analysis of the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ? [Bug 1414778] Re: Click and draw of certain links results in double mouse pointer
This appears to potentially be the same bug as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1393169. As mentioned there, I have the same problem in Utopic AMD64 with MATE 1.8.1; this began immediately on my upgrade from Trusty to Utopic and continues to the present. I have a double mouse pointer appear intermittently during web browsing (Firefos 35.0.1), often when click- dragging a link to open in new tab, and then it persists. Although two pointers are visible only the left pointer is active. If I log out and back in, the single mouse pointer is restored. [Bug 1202795] Re: Preseed install detects intel nic as something other than eth0
This would be what is done by the biosdevname package: Description-en: apply BIOS-given names to network devices biosdevname in its simplest form takes a kernel device name as an argument, and returns the BIOS-given name it should be. . This is necessary on systems where the BIOS name for a given device (e.g. the label on the chassis is Gb1) doesn't map directly and obviously to the kernel name (e.g. eth0). . This also works as a straight udev rule, which is provided. . Home Page: http://linux.dell.com/biosdevname/ It seems to me like this should really only be a cosmetic difference and not adversely affect the installation, even in the case of preseeds. Is it possible that eth0 is hardcoded somewhere in the preseed? Could you please attach your preseed file, after making sure it doesn't contain sensitive information like passwords? [Bug 528798] Re: Firefox menus unresposive, output Usage:program_name [address][:port]
This problem is years old now . It was reported in 2010. It took three (3) whole years before it got 'confirmed'. Now that was more than a year ago. Is their any chance of this being 'solved' or 'diagnosed' or something promising like that in the years to come ? Or is to remain 'confirmed' forever. In the meantime rebooting crappy Ubuntu Linux machines multiple times a day because that is the only temporary 'solution' to this 'confirmed' problem. The problem is not caused by /etc/hosts nor by addons nor an old profile. Even with a fresh install of Firefox and a completely new profile without addons the problem persists. The problem occurs on Xubuntu 12.04. ( I'm back on 12.04 and skipping 14.04 because of the huge number of bugs and problemes in that release ). I used to actually promote Ubuntu and Linux. Can't really remember why actually, the reason must be buried under a the accumulated mountain of frustration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528798 Title: Firefox menus unresposive, output Usage:program_name [address][:port] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/528798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
