[Bug 1421734] [NEW] [needs-packaging] yuyo-gtk-theme
Public bug reported: Ubuntu MATE is an Ubuntu derivative that provides the MATE desktop environment. MATE is the continuation of GNOME2. Ubuntu MATE has been given the green light by the Ubuntu Technical Board and Canonical IS have confirmed sufficient storage is available to host the Ubuntu MATE images. As a prerequisite to integrating Ubuntu MATE into the official build infrastructure some Ubuntu MATE packages (currently hosted in a PPA) need to be uploaded to the official Ubuntu archive. Daniel Holbach has informed me that Ubuntu is now in feature freeze and therefore an exception will need to be granted. * yuyo-gtk-theme provides the default GTK2 and GTK3 themes for Ubuntu MATE. It is required to create Ubuntu MATE. [Bug 1388453] Re: Unable to install 14.10 - Black Screen
I found a workaround. I tried to install the latest PCLinuxOS and the latest Fedora an had the same problem, but there there was a item in the livecd menu to start in vesa mode. That worked. So I start searching how to start Ubuntu in vesa mode. I'll tried with the livecd from Ubuntu-mate 14.04.1 I selected NOMODESET en after the 'quit splash' I added vga=normal. That started the live session of Ubuntu Mate in a resolution of 1024x768. I could install Ubuntu Mate. At restarting the computer in Grub I choose 'e' to go in edit mode. and added 'nomodeset' en 'vga=normal' as extra options. (keyboard was not in be but in us, but I manage). Mate started in 1024x768 (terrible on my screen, but at least I got something working. Then I installed the nvidia drivers 'NVIDIA legacy binairy drivers-version 304.124' an restarted the computer. Got my beautiful desktop back :). [Bug 1421249] Re: bluetooth can not be enabled sometimes
** Description changed: The bluetooth indicator and the bluetooth page in system settings sometimes won't turn on bluetooth until after a reboot. What I expect to happen is that if bluetooth is off in the indicator/system settings and I tap the switch, the switch will go green and in a moment the bluetooth indicator will show up and bluetooth is enabled. When bluetooth is on, I expect to go into the indicator/system settings and turn the switch off, the switch will go gray and the bluetooth indicator will hide and bluetooth is disabled. I expect this to work whenever I want while the phone is on. Sometimes, this does not work. For example, yesterday I disabled bluetooth at some point in the evening and later I went to sleep. When I woke up, I tried to turn it on via the indicator and also system - settings and it won't turn on. In the indicator, the switch moves to the - green position briefly, then moves back to gray (the bluetooth indicator - remains hidden and bluetooth is disabled). In system settings, the - switch will stay green, but the bluetooth indicator remains hidden and - bluetooth is disabled. If I leave system settings and come back, the the - switch is now in the off position. + settings and it wouldn't turn on. In the indicator, the switch moves to + the green position briefly, then moves back to gray (the bluetooth + indicator remains hidden and bluetooth is disabled). In system settings, + the switch will stay green, but the bluetooth indicator remains hidden + and bluetooth is disabled. Is it possible that the attempt to log this error message tries to open a file, and fails because ...wait for it, there's no more open files allowed for the ibus/glib2 using process? If I then click on an open window of another application (that is, shift the focus to the window of another program) and then click on the Mnemosyne window (and thus shift the focus back to Mnemosyne), the menu then appears when I pass the cursor over the title-bar. If I then click on any of the icons below Mnemosyne's title/menu bar, the menu of the new window is inaccessible until I click on the window of another program and then click on the new Mnemosyne window again. When I close the window that I called by clicking the icon, the menu of the first Mnemosyne window is once again inaccessible until I click on the window of another program and then click on Mnemosyne's window. I have to click on the window of another program to trigger access to Mnemosyne's window. Clicking on the desktop and then on Mnemosyne's window will not trigger access to Mnemosyne. I have to click on the open window of another program and then click on the Mnemosyne window again to get access to Mnemosyne's menu. lsb_release -rd returns Description:Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release: 14.04 apt-cache policy mnemosyne returns mnemosyne: Installed: 2.2.1-2 Candidate: 2.2.1-2 Version table: *** 2.2.1-2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status The Linux kernel on my computer: $ cat /proc/version returns Linux version 3.13.0-45-generic (buildd@phianna) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #74-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 18 19:36:27 UTC 2015 ** Affects: mnemosyne (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1421775 Title: menu often inaccessible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mnemosyne/+bug/1421775/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I experience this with a HP Stream 13 and a clean 14.10 install. I tried the 60-persistent-storage.rules in #16, but they did not fix the problem, which I saw about 15 seconds into startup on dmesg. This is still the case - see the bug duped here which has an mp4 For these videos the mediascanner fails to process them the first time but they do show in the scope on a reboot (which seems a separate issue) The following is reported in mediascanner and media-hub logs: [Err, h264_dec_init] Fail to open Vdec Drv H264 instance! -11 [Err] Error code -10 [Err, h264_dec_deInit] Invalid input argument [Err] Error code -1 Error when adding new file: Unable to discover file /home/phablet/Videos/H264_500_AAC_128.3gp The media-hub-server may or may not show up in top using 100% cpu but the symptom is the same, the phone is alive but extremely sluggish and appears frozen. [Bug 1421174] Re: [FFe] standing freeze exception in vivid for Ubuntu Touch-specific packages
Hey, Sadly with the current processes setup it's not an easy thing to coordinate. Touch development and schedules are tightly bound to client requirements which means developers need to be able to work on feature requests when needed. We could of course work-around that by simply moving all active development away from the main archives and work on a derived one (like ubuntu-rtm and some sub-series) instead, but this would once again introduce yet another layer of backporting needed. We could also do the split at the moment of a feature freeze, then do all development on the derived distribution instead (maybe only backporting stability fixes) and then sync everything up to the new development series once it opens. But making of such synces is not easy. But yeah, there might be some other ideas as well. For this cycle though I would like to request such a blanket FFE once again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1421174 Title: [FFe] standing freeze exception in vivid for Ubuntu Touch-specific packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1421174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1412042] Re: [Toshiba Satellite P855-S5102] Fan too loud while CPU idle
Apologies for delay, I wanted to recreate initial conditions as best as possible but with newer kernel (Linux 111 3.19.0-031900rc7-generic). Unfortunately, that potential WORKAROUND does not appear to help address the fan noise level. The only thing I note is that System Monitor CPU History is now allowed to break 25% barrier (previously one CPU would be at 100% while the others rested, now they take on greater cumulative load if pushed). Perhaps --governor=powersave is higher than default or my evidence is too anecdotal. Other notes: 1- It seems fan noise definitely more of a problem when using an external display (is screen still on or does it simply act as a blanket when covering laptop body?). Actually, with total load 25% and laptop open with external display, fan noise very quickly a problem! This may actually be one underlying issue?? But problem still exists without external display. 2- If I Suspend for even 5 seconds, fan noise is greatly reduced on UnSuspend (is this simply physics or the system?). 3- It seems that once fan noise up, system cannot reduce by itself. But Suspend resets a trigger.
