I simply run kile and it crashes at startup. . The KDE crash handler
comes up but complains there are no debug symbols. There appears to be
no -dbg package for kile. I instead ran it through gdb and see

Desktop sometimes does not show the word Activities or show the icons
when I clip on the space where Activities would appear. But there is
some vague shadow in the space where the icons would appear, and if I
click on that shadow, the activity shows up, ver slowly. Also the

is reproducible from a working system if you follow the above steps, and
then open libreoffice-calc and then attempt to start typing with the

The init.d script for xinetd seems to have some issues. If it's started
before the upstart script, two instances of xinetd can be running.
Also, the .pid file location in the init.d script is a different
location than the upstart script. While more checks should be done in
After some restarts here, it switched from h to uppercase E being missing.
Tried many different layouts and most of them reproduce the issue.
The problem only happens when maliit-server is started using upstart. If
I stop maliit-server and start it manually, the problem does not happen.

Hi,
After a few minutes, some times an hour or two, wireless stop working,
some times it doesnt stop but starts dropping most packages which ends
with laptop unable to open a single socket.
I've installed a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

When using a user-interface scaling 1 (Ubuntu Control Center →
Display), the sensitive areas of the international character selection
popover is offset. It seems UI units and device units are confused. When
you want to choose an international character, you have to touch the
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Investigated the issue some more.
Seems that EDID is not always given by the monitor when asked by the OS, for
instance via Detect Monitors via gui or via xrandr via command line.
The workaround with xorg.conf I have abandoned. It wasnt working great too.
Still a lot of time X was detecting
