On Kubuntu vivid beta 2 running a live CD then shutting down I get a
plymouth screen with the Kubuntu logo and the text Remove installation
media and press enter to reboot (paraphrase) but nothing happens on
pressing enter it just shows forever

Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
Franck, you are apparently mixing packages from apt.postgresql.org with
ubuntu packages. Running apt-get update and dist-upgrade ought to fix
that?
