If cellular data/wifi isnt connected, its sill an issue!
So we have a weird dependcy that we either need wifi/cellular?!

Correction: I get 303 Mb output (data which would go to the printer)
with pdftops (the default) on my test queue. If I switch to pdftocairo,
I get a 2 Mb file output and the simple PDF prints much quickly.
I have to do more tests since THIS sample file prints faster with
pdftocairo but others
... and removing %U from the Exec= line...
It's ok for opening the file. But when you save the file, the
modification affects only the clocal copy of the files, not the orginal
one on ftp site. The file on ftp site is updated when kate close.
