Solved for me. The solution was to add:
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,0
to /etc/pulse/default.pa just before the udev stuff, and also mute the
microphone in alsamixer

problem persists. I really think there is no change at all on the
buttons themselves. In every other application, the difference between a

Switches and checkboxes are used for different things: switches for noun
phrases that can be considered on/off, checkboxes for verb or adjective
phrases that are agreed to or not.
Unfortunately, switches and checkboxes currently look very similar. This
bug will be fixed when checkboxes are moved
I have exactly the same problem, I tried many distributionns based on Ubuntu
with this bug.

It was a hardware issue. I booted my Arch Linux install and the mouse
cursor got stuck too. Then I disconnected the mouse cable from an USB
extension cord and connected it again to the same extension cord. The
mouse cursor now don't get stuck anymore.
