[Bug 1549942] Re: php-imagick failing autopkgtests

2016-03-06 Thread Steve Langasek
Hi Nish,

>- d/tests/control: limit imagemagick to 1 thread to avoid openmp
>  related segfaults.

This implies that php-imagick doesn't work correctly unless
MAGICK_THREAD_LIMIT=1 is set; which clearly will not be the case out of
the box. So I don't consider this a valid workaround for test failures,
as it implies the code will still segfault in production.

[Bug 130682] Re: pasv_min_port, pasv_max_port does not work if client uses PASV

2016-03-06 Thread Tamas Cs
Hi,

I found a corner case, where it might not work even if you set them:

pasv_min_port=1
pasv_max_port=9000
(Notice that min an max was mixed up)

In this case the server does start (not yielding a config error) but the
configuration is ignored. This is clearly a bug. I could accept both
a) work: "I know what you mean" or
b) config error: "please be more precise"

Cheers,

Tamas

Sorry, this was reported over 7 years ago, I doubt it has any relevance

slow to be worth using with today's software. Thanks for taking a look

[Bug 1553483] Re: Can't install 'xubuntu-core'

2016-03-06 Thread DLCBurggraaff
To verify that the "libsexy" problem was still there I restored my pre-
upgrade situation and ran "sudo update-manager -d" again: the libsexy
problem was still there.

I then restored my pre-upgrade situation once more, in "Software &
Updates" changed the Download server from
"http://nl3.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu; to the "Main server" and ran
"sudo update-manager -d" again: step 3 "Getting new packages" took
significantly longer but the libsexy problem was gone.

Step 4 "Installing the upgrades" started alright but at about 2/3,
shortly after the question whether or not /etc/udev/udev.conf should be
replaces the screen went black and the keyboard went dead. When ssh'in
from another box top told me that only the "xenial" executable was
running. I issued a "powerdown" command to shut the box down while
retaining the logs etc.

Let me know what logs (if any) you would like to see.

2016-03-06 Thread Dadio
There is still one bug 'bugging' me. I refer to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/libvirt/+bug/1533728

If you run the procedure [create external snapshot] => [Active block

There is a patch released for Red Hat on Bugzilla.

If this could be processed on Xenial, that would be great!

[Bug 1090570] Re: When starting blender screen goes black and login returns

2016-03-06 Thread Set Hallstrom
Hi penvalch! I'm 99.9% certain it isn't happening in 14.04.4. Although i
would need to test it to answer for 15.04 nor 15.10, blender being a
popular package, i think we would know it by now if this bug was present
in them.

[Bug 1548083] Re: Xenial kernels hang on boot

2016-03-06 Thread Andreas Pokorny
On friday I had to reboot.. and before that I somehow accidentally
removed the 3.19 kernel. With no bootable kernel available I reinstalled
xenial onto / and got a 4.4 kernel. Now everything is normal again. So
given that the kernel and initrd did not change I must have had
something in my previous install..

[Bug 1547996] Re: Wrong download progress is shown

2016-03-06 Thread Julian Andres Klode
Well, actually it's an invalid bug report. We will not reuse partially
downloaded files from the cache for a download command.

[Bug 1547983] Re: Cache isn't always used

2016-03-06 Thread Julian Andres Klode
apt-get download never used the cached packages at all. And now with
apt(8) deleting the debs after a successful install, there won't be any
in most cases anyway.

It might make sense to do so, though.

[Bug 1553712] [NEW] usr.bin.firefox apparmor profile blocks access to mounttracker

2016-03-06 Thread Jean-Philippe Guérard
Public bug reported:

When I launch Firefox with apparmor enabled, I get the following error:

Mar  6 11:03:27 tigreraye dbus[4663]: apparmor="DENIED"
operation="dbus_method_call"  bus="session"
path="/org/gtk/vfs/mounttracker" interface="org.gtk.vfs.MountTracker"
member="ListMountableInfo" mask="send" name=":1.42" pid=11860
label="/usr/lib/firefox/firefox{,*[^s][^h]}" peer_pid=4834
peer_label="unconfined"

Adding the following lines to the apparmor profile fixes the issue:

dbus send bus=session path="/org/gtk/vfs/mounttracker"
interface="org.gtk.vfs.MountTracker" member="ListMountableInfo",

[Bug 1553713] [NEW] First visit to location-using site results in two dialogs

2016-03-06 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 15.04 r270

0. Flash the phone.
1. Launch the Browser.
2. Go to maps.google.com.
3. Tap “Allow”.

What happens:
2. A dialog appears, “Permission Request” “This page wants to use your device’s
location.” Deny / Allow
3. A dialog appears, “Browser wants to access your current location.” Allow /
Don’t Allow

What should happen: Only one dialog appears. Two is ridiculous,
especially given their visual differences.

Possible ways to solve this bug:

* The Browser should something that isn’t a dialog for site-specific
permissions, like Firefox does. (This would also have the benefit that a
background tab couldn’t steal focus with a permission dialog.)

* The Browser should have every permission by default, on the
understanding that it can be trusted to ask per-site.

* trust-store should let any app split permissions into zones granted
independently, and Browser should have one zone per Web site.

unix (send, receive, connect) type=stream peer=(addr="@/tmp/.ICE-

[Bug 1551283] Re: "Region & Language" settings should allow you to set keyboard input method system

2016-03-06 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
> With those changes, im-config (and gnome-language-selector) will
default to IBus in Ubuntu GNOME.

Hi, I've tested the packages from the PPA under Xenial's gnome-flashback, and
now I got ibus running by default.
And it again breaks keyboard layout switching with the default Win+Space, so I
can't type in Greek (LP: #1481025).

Why can't im-config default to ibus in locales that need it, and to None in
locales that don't need it, as it did in previous Ubuntu releases?
Apart from the serious problems that it's causing, it's also wasting a lot of
MB RAM per user, which is completely unacceptable for multi-user systems like
LTSP.

[Bug 1547800] Re: gpu stuck on render ring

2016-03-06 Thread Robert Jordens
This currently occurs pretty much every time I resume from suspend but
only if the machine was suspended for a longer time. Independent of
whether chromium is shown or maximized.

I'll have to wait a while to be able to say whether it occurs with
chromium hw acceleration off but I bet it doesn't

This exact issue did not appear until a few weeks ago.

What happens if you try the following (this will download a box from
vagrantcloud.com):

vagrant init ubuntu/trusty64
vagrant up

I know that box works, so if you still get the same problem then that
helps narrow it down.

[Bug 1553713] Re: First visit to location-using site results in two dialogs

2016-03-06 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Attachment added: "screenshot of the problem"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1553713/+attachment/4590406/+files/1553713-location-location-location.png

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 15.04 r270

  0. Flash the phone.
  1. Launch the Browser.
  2. Go to maps.google.com.
  3. Tap “Allow”.

  What happens:
  2. A dialog appears, “Permission Request” “This page wants to use your
device’s location.” Deny / Allow
  3. A dialog appears, “Browser wants to access your current location.” Allow /
Don’t Allow

  What should happen: Only one dialog appears. Two is ridiculous,
  especially given their visual differences.

  Possible ways to solve this bug:
- * The Browser should something that isn’t a dialog for site-specific
permissions, like Firefox does.
- * The Browser should have every permission by default, on the understanding
that it can be trusted to ask per-site.
- * trust-store should let any app split permissions into zones granted
independently, and Browser should have one zone per Web site.
+
+ * The Browser should something that isn’t a dialog for site-specific
+ permissions, like Firefox does. (This would also have the benefit that a
+ background tab couldn’t steal focus with a permission dialog.)

[Bug 1553669] [NEW] Annoying call from message

2016-03-06 Thread Rajinder Yadav
Public bug reported:

I have a bluetooth Bose OE SoundLink working on Kubuntu 15.10 but each
time I initially connect to listen to an audio or video, I hear an
annoying "Call from" on my headset. My headset seems to think a
connection to a phone call is taking place. This is annoying because the
audio will start to play and after a little while the "call from" voice
talks over the audio.

[Bug 1547934] Re: Lenovo Y700-17ISK WiFi not working

2016-03-06 Thread aljosa
Hello Christopher, thanks for your reply.
Yesterday I received a massive update (new kernel, nvidia driver, x.org
server,...) that somehow broke my computer totally, so please bear in mind that
now I'm running freshly installed 'xenial-desktop-amd64.iso 04-Mar-2016'
(kernel 4.4.0-10-generic, nvidia 361.28). Consequently, I'm attaching here a
new dmesg output file.

sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
CDCN30WW
01/31/2016

Wi-fi is now working ok, but I still see some strange lines within dmesg
output:

[1.869368] iwlwifi :08:00.0: Direct firmware load for
iwlwifi-8000C-19.ucode failed with error -2
[1.869382] iwlwifi :08:00.0: Direct firmware load for
iwlwifi-8000C-18.ucode failed with error -2
[1.869392] iwlwifi :08:00.0: Direct firmware load for
iwlwifi-8000C-17.ucode failed with error -2

[Bug 1553678] [NEW] os-prober doesn't detect Windows properly with EFI and MBR partition

2016-03-06 Thread kay
Public bug reported:

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/d-i/os-prober.git/tree/os-
probes/mounted/x86/05efi#n42..n45

Disk has regular MBR table. It has Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed on
different partitions. Os-prober doesn't detect EFI partition on MBR
table because "udevadm info" returns "dos" partition scheme instead of
expected "msdos".

  $ udevadm info /dev/sda1 | grep  dos
  E: ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME=dos
  E: ID_PART_TABLE_TYPE=dos

  $ fdisk -lu /dev/sda | grep -B1 -A1 ef
 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
  /dev/sda1   *2048  616447  307200   ef  EFI (FAT-12/16/32)
  /dev/sda2  616448   128134439637589967  HPFS/NTFS/exFAT

Fixing conditions below resolves the issue:

-   \( "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" != gpt -a "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" !=
msdos \) -o \
+   \( "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" != gpt -a "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" !=
dos \) -o \
\( "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" = gpt -a "$ID_PART_ENTRY_TYPE" !=
c12a7328-f81f-11d2-ba4b-00a0c93ec93b \) -o \
-   \( "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" = msdos -a "$ID_PART_ENTRY_TYPE" !=
0xef \) ]; then
+   \( "$ID_PART_ENTRY_SCHEME" = dos -a "$ID_PART_ENTRY_TYPE" !=
0xef \) ]; then
