[Bug 1572608] Re: Samba 2:4.3.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 Reversion: CPU Soft Lock
Ok, the RAM issue is discarded. It just happened again some minutes ago and the RAM memory log I had set in place didn't notice a problem there. I have no idea how to replicate the issue or what is causing it. So far I've only noticed the soft lockup messages linked to smbd from dmesg, syslog or kern.log, which start a few hours before the halt. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1572608 Title: Samba 2:4.3.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 Reversion: CPU Soft Lock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1572608/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1581617] [NEW] upgrade of libnl-genl-3-200 causes networkmanager to not load
Public bug reported: This morning, before leaving for work, I saw there was a update available for a package in Ubuntu 14.04 (I do NOT have the -proposed repositories enabled). I installed it and shutdown. When I got to work, no internet (network-manager won't load, there's a general protection error in dmesg). Looking at the apt log /var/cache/apt/history , it looks like libnl- genl-3-200 was updated (and that was the *only* package that was updated). After loading up synaptic, there are other "upgradable" packages, none of which got installed (or were listed) when I upgraded libnl- genl-3-200: gir1.2-netowrkmanager-1.0 libmm-glib0 libnm-glib-vpn1 libnm-glib4 libnm-util2 modemmanager netowrk-manager However, without the internet, I can't get these packages! Please help! I *did* have an older version of libnl-genl-3-200 in /var/apt/cache/archives (from Jan 29), but installing this and restarting networkmanager (or the machine) does not fix the issue. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581617 Title: upgrade of libnl-genl-3-200 causes networkmanager to not load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1581617/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. [Bug 1579192] Re: [SRU] dhclient.conf regression in walinuxagent 2.0.16-0ubuntu2~12.04.0
I'm sponsoring this because uploading is clearly better than not uploading in this case. However, I think it's worth looking into what went wrong with SRU verification the first times round, as this appears to be a regression of a regression of a regression (or something like that, I don't quite follow). I'm also ignoring the fact that sedding some other package's conffile is broken, again because doing the SRU will not make it any worse. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579192 Title: [SRU] dhclient.conf regression in walinuxagent 2.0.16-0ubuntu2~12.04.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/walinuxagent/+bug/1579192/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1580774] Re: mouse is getting stuck on a phantom edge
Looking at Mir's SurfaceInputDispatcher::deliver_pointer, auto target = find_target_surface(event_x_y); printf("input event target %p, pos: (%d,%d)\n", target.get(), event_x_y.x.as_int(), event_x_y.y.as_int()); prints this when hitting the barrier: input event target 0x562470, pos: (1177,323) input event target (nil), pos: (1213,323) that is with mouse only about 300 pixels across the screen. But I guess the real problem is that the Mir cursor coordinate is outside the physical display space, i.e. it should go beyond x=1200, and thus always be over the unity8 surface. Unity8 reads the cursor movement delta, not the position, to position its cursor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1580774 Title: mouse is getting stuck on a phantom edge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1580774/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1581582] Re: Package dependencies do not allow libopencl1 providers other than ocl-icd-libopencl1

[Bug 1581582] [NEW] Package dependencies do not allow libopencl1 providers other than ocl-icd-libopencl1
Public bug reported: The package dependencies are as follows: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14), ocl-icd-libopencl1 | libopencl1, ocl-icd-libopencl1 (>= 1.0) | libopencl-1.1-1 This means that, for example, if I use Nvidia's latest ICD loader implementation, nvidia-libopencl1-361, then I can't install clinfo. There are multiple packages which provide libopencl1 - not just ocl-icd- libopencl1 (which contains Khronos' reference implementation) but nvidia-libopencl1-xxx, an implementation accompanying each Nvidia ICD (though they're not specifically tied to that ICD). Upstream in Debian there's also amd-libopencl1. This package - as far as I can tell - should only depend on libc6 (>= 2.14) and libopencl1. It should function with any package that provides libopencl1, whether it's a vendor-provided implementation or Khronos' reference implementation. [Bug 1581191] Re: please add AppMenu to the unity7 interface
I looked into this a bit today and talked to tedg, who has deep knowledge of the various dbus menu systems. In short, AppMenu doesn't seem to be used by anything other than unity7 itself to register menus, which is consistent with my experience trying a few disparate apps (qml, gnome and libreoffice). As such, I'm going to mark AppMenu support as "Won't Fix" for now, but if the analysis turns our wrong, we can add AppMenu DBus API support to the unity7 interface at that time. Note: 2.0.3 should have better dbus menu support for typical applications, but I'm preparing a PR for the eventual 2.0.4 release that should work with all applications (eg, libreoffice). ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Wishlist ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Won't Fix ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Assignee: Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581191 Title: please add AppMenu to the unity7 interface To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1581191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
