[Bug 1572608] Re: Samba 2:4.3.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 Reversion: CPU Soft Lock

2016-05-13 Thread MoD
Ok, the RAM issue is discarded. It just happened again some minutes ago
and the RAM memory log I had set in place didn't notice a problem there.

I have no idea how to replicate the issue or what is causing it. So far
I've only noticed the soft lockup messages linked to smbd from dmesg,
syslog or kern.log, which start a few hours before the halt.

[Bug 1577246] Re: window has no shadow when run through (gk)sudo

2016-05-13 Thread Coeur Noir
** Description changed:

  Hi,

- as described in title.
+ ( Ubuntu 16.04 / Unity )

The gedit window has no shadow around its borders, which is quite
annoying when opened above other white or light background window(s).

Happen only and immediatly when run through (gk)sudo.

Shadow is present with normal user.

  It seems "confirmed" here https://forum.ubuntu-
  fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=21517385#p21517385

Comments #1 and #2 written before kikito made me notice the sudo

[Bug 1581617] [NEW] upgrade of libnl-genl-3-200 causes networkmanager to not load

2016-05-13 Thread John B.
Public bug reported:

This morning, before leaving for work, I saw there was a update
available for a package in Ubuntu 14.04 (I do NOT have the -proposed
repositories enabled). I installed it and shutdown. When I got to
work, no internet (network-manager won't load, there's a general
protection error in dmesg).

Looking at the apt log /var/cache/apt/history , it looks like libnl-
genl-3-200 was updated (and that was the *only* package that was
updated).

After loading up synaptic, there are other "upgradable" packages, none
of which got installed (or were listed) when I upgraded libnl-
genl-3-200:

gir1.2-netowrkmanager-1.0
libmm-glib0
libnm-glib-vpn1
libnm-glib4
libnm-util2
modemmanager
netowrk-manager

However, without the internet, I can't get these packages! Please help!

I *did* have an older version of libnl-genl-3-200 in
/var/apt/cache/archives (from Jan 29), but installing this and
restarting networkmanager (or the machine) does not fix the issue.

[Bug 1581236] Re: Power state does not drop lower than pc03 for package (Haswell i7-4500U)

2016-05-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.6 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

2016-05-13 Thread Anupam
@mpredotka I do that from the very beginning actually! But there is a
problem with the owner info in the circle. Suppose I lose my phone and
some non-Ubuntu-Touch-user finds it. Then if the circle is not set at
the owner info screen, the it's highly probable that the person wouldn't
realise that double tapping over and over again will lead them to the
owner info screen.

[Bug 1581604] [NEW] akonadi KF5: search email/contacts/ ... not working: Missing libkf5akonadisearch* pkgs

2016-05-13 Thread Achim Bohnet
Public bug reported:

Maybe this bug should be reassigned to akonadi-server (See below)

In xenial searching akonadi is no longer working. Installed on my
system are

libkf5akonadisearchdebug5:amd64
libkf5akonadisearchpim5:amd64

missing are:

libkf5akonadisearch-bin (which pulls in libkf5akonadisearch-data
libkf5akonadisearch-plugins libkf5akonadisearchcore5
libkf5akonadisearchxapian5)

After installation:
  * email body search works.
  * email address completion work again (only ldap worked before)

Because libkf5akonadisearch-plugins contains several plugins

akonadi/contactsearchstore.so
akonadi/notesearchstore.so
akonadi/emailsearchstore.so
akonadi/calendarsearchstore.so
akonadi/akonadi_search_plugin.so
krunner_pimcontacts.so

I would suggest that akonadi-server at least recommends
libkf5akonadisearch-bin

[Bug 1581005] Re: Dell XPS 15 9550 Freezes when HDMI is plugged in

2016-05-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I started a reverse bisect between v4.6-rc3 final and v4.6-rc4. The

I built the first test kernel, up to the following commit:

The test kernel can be downloaded from:

Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not? I
will build the next test kernel based on your test results.

Thanks in advance

[Bug 1581597] [NEW] hplip causes scanimage -L to return the same hp scanner as two devices

2016-05-13 Thread Sergio Callegari
Public bug reported:

I have a wifi connected HP multifunction printer that includes a scanner
Officejet 4500.

cups is configured to recognize this printer "by name" as in

hp:/net/Officejet_4500_G510n-z?zc=HPxx

calling scanimage -L causes the scanner associated to the printer to be
returned twice, once with a by-name url and once with a by-address url,
namely as

device 'hpaio:/net/Officejet_4500_G510n-z?zc=HPxx' is a Hewlett-
Packard Officejet_4500_G510n-z all-in-one

device
`hpaio:/net/officejet_4500_g510n-z?ip=nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn=false' is a
Hewlett-Packard Officejet_4500_G510n-z all-in-one

[Bug 1581326] Re: Kernel crashed while Creating a second RAID volume on Ubuntu 16.04 OS.

2016-05-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.6 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1578821] Re: I'm not able to install galician language in Ubuntu 16.04

2016-05-13 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
I think they are fine, and indeed uploaded the patch you sent in the Debian bug
as-is.
Maybe there are some redundant, but I didn't spot any (anyway, to notice them
would mean knowing what those languages are, at least).
What for me was more important (Spanish in LO) is fixed, anyway.

[Bug 1580774] Re: mouse is getting stuck on a phantom edge

2016-05-13 Thread Gerry Boland
mi::DisplayInputRegion::confine(geom::Point& point) is responsible for
confining the cursor position inside the display rectangles.

void
ms::MediatingDisplayChanger::update_input_rectangles(mg::DisplayConfiguration
const& config)
is that which configures DisplayInputRegion with the display rectangles.

phablet@frieza:~/lib$ mirout -- --desktop_file_hint=dialer-app
Connected to server:
Card 0: Max 3 simultaneous outputs
Output 1: Card 0, LVDS, connected, 1200x1920+0+0, used, on, 135mm x 216mm
(10.0"), normal
1200x1920 56.90*+
Output 2: Card 0, DisplayPort, disconnected
Output 3: Card 0, Virtual, disconnected
1920x1080 60.00*+

I am seeing the MediatingDisplayChanger consider the Virtual display as
being included in the display rectangles, even though is is
"disconnected".

[Bug 1579082] Re: minor changes to satisfy MIR request

2016-05-13 Thread Adam Conrad
Hello Colin, or anyone else affected,

Accepted zfs-linux into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-
linux/0.6.5.6-0ubuntu9 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

Serge, we may want to pull them in and put in a PPA to see if IBM and

[Bug 1571798] Re: Broadwell ECRC Support missing in Ubuntu

2016-05-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I started a kernel bisect between v3.17 final and v3.18-rc1. The kernel
bisect will require testing of about 7-10 test kernels.

I built the first test kernel, up to the following commit:
35a9ad8af0bb0fa3525e6d0d20e32551d226f38e

The test kernel can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1571798

Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not? I
will build the next test kernel based on your test results.

Thanks in advance

[Bug 1581589] [NEW] Package modifies dhclient.conf

2016-05-13 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

Modifying dhclient.conf breaks upgrades because users will be faced with
a conffile prompt. Non-interactive upgrades will not be able to address
this issue.

I note that Debian policy warns against diverting conffiles. A proper
fix would probably be to design a decent interaction with dhclient so
that modifying its conffile is not necessary, or to have it provide a .d
directory, or similar.

[Bug 1579192] Re: [SRU] dhclient.conf regression in walinuxagent 2.0.16-0ubuntu2~12.04.0

2016-05-13 Thread Robie Basak
I'm sponsoring this because uploading is clearly better than not
uploading in this case.

However, I think it's worth looking into what went wrong with SRU
verification the first times round, as this appears to be a regression
of a regression of a regression (or something like that, I don't quite
follow).

I'm also ignoring the fact that sedding some other package's conffile is
broken, again because doing the SRU will not make it any worse.

[Bug 1580774] Re: mouse is getting stuck on a phantom edge

2016-05-13 Thread Gerry Boland
Looking at Mir's SurfaceInputDispatcher::deliver_pointer,

auto target = find_target_surface(event_x_y);
printf("input event target %p, pos: (%d,%d)\n", target.get(),
event_x_y.x.as_int(), event_x_y.y.as_int());

prints this when hitting the barrier:
input event target 0x562470, pos: (1177,323)
input event target (nil), pos: (1213,323)
that is with mouse only about 300 pixels across the screen.

But I guess the real problem is that the Mir cursor coordinate is
outside the physical display space, i.e. it should go beyond x=1200, and
thus always be over the unity8 surface. Unity8 reads the cursor movement
delta, not the position, to position its cursor

[Bug 1581582] [NEW] Package dependencies do not allow libopencl1 providers other than ocl-icd-libopencl1

2016-05-13 Thread Abigail
Public bug reported:

The package dependencies are as follows:
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14), ocl-icd-libopencl1 | libopencl1,
ocl-icd-libopencl1 (>= 1.0) | libopencl-1.1-1

This means that, for example, if I use Nvidia's latest ICD loader
implementation, nvidia-libopencl1-361, then I can't install clinfo.

There are multiple packages which provide libopencl1 - not just ocl-icd-
libopencl1 (which contains Khronos' reference implementation) but
nvidia-libopencl1-xxx, an implementation accompanying each Nvidia ICD
(though they're not specifically tied to that ICD). Upstream in Debian
there's also amd-libopencl1.

This package - as far as I can tell - should only depend on libc6 (>=
2.14) and libopencl1. It should function with any package that provides
libopencl1, whether it's a vendor-provided implementation or Khronos'
reference implementation.

Ubuntu version: 16.04
Package version: 2.1.16.01.12-1

[Bug 1581191] Re: please add AppMenu to the unity7 interface

2016-05-13 Thread Jamie Strandboge
I looked into this a bit today and talked to tedg, who has deep
knowledge of the various dbus menu systems. In short, AppMenu doesn't
seem to be used by anything other than unity7 itself to register menus,
which is consistent with my experience trying a few disparate apps (qml,
gnome and libreoffice). As such, I'm going to mark AppMenu support as
"Won't Fix" for now, but if the analysis turns our wrong, we can add
AppMenu DBus API support to the unity7 interface at that time.

Note: 2.0.3 should have better dbus menu support for typical
applications, but I'm preparing a PR for the eventual 2.0.4 release that
should work with all applications (eg, libreoffice).
