@Pat just tried this once again, it actually took 9-10 minutes to show
"Software is up to date" on 3G (started at 17:23, showed at around
17:33). Maybe something to do with the data connection! But I noticed
earlier, if there are updates available, it lists them after 2-3 seconds

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm still using 14.04 but will probably
switch to 16.04 soon (I only use LTS installs). So as long as nothing
explodes when I update I wont need a back port.

1. get a pen drive having a read-only switch.
2. plug in pen drive in write mode
3. check you can write something.

ALSA_CONFIG_PATH [1] in a wrapper ?
/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf is a generic file, you do not necessarily need to

We really need iCal and CalDav working for this Calendar app to be of
any use for anyone who isn't a Google user (since most people own more

It's fixed with some system update. Now working. I've plugged in an USB3
external HDD into an USB3 port in my computer. It was detected and
working perfectly. The HDD was in NTFS and I got around 40 MB/s speed.

I performed a backup to tape of three ZFS filesystem snapshots with this
command:
tar -cPvzf /dev/st0 /tambor/luki/.zfs/snapshot/backup/
/tambor/caligrafix/.zfs/snapshot/backup/ /tambor/pub/.zfs/snapshot/backup/
Then when verifying the backup with this command:
tar -dPvzf
I have also got this bug, but from a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04.
Using an SSD,
I am a 3 day old user, so know next to nothing on ubuntu etc.
The full message I got was:

UPDATE 2:
I've just found out that a viable workaround for this is to use the
