[Bug 1650900] Re: UHD TV resolution changed unintendly to FHD
I have experienced the same resolution fallback weirdness with multiple devices over the years. [Bug 1651294] Re: [Lenovo IdeaCentre A540] Doesn't poweroff on shutdown
Nicolas K, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. In order to allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please keep in mind the following: 1) The one to test is at the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder). 2) The release names are irrelevant. 3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was released upstream. 4) Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may: 1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there. 2) Backup, or clone the primary install. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Also, you don't need to apport-collect further unless specifically requested to do so. It is most helpful that after testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, you mark this report Status Confirmed. Lastly, to keep this issue relevant to upstream, please continue to test the latest mainline kernel as it becomes available. [Bug 1574667] Re: Mouse pointer occasionally jumps to the bottom-left corner
I can also confirm this happens on a Lenovo X230; when clicking the touchpad, the cursor will sometimes move to the lower left corner. Changing finger pressure in synaptic, turning off tap-to-click does not stop this behavior. Lowering sensitivity to it's lowest setting in Touchpad Properties does not solve it either. [Bug 1649668] Re: PCI/internal sound card not detected Acer Aspire E5-575 Intel Corporation Device 9d71
Chris D'Italia, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better In order to allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? [Bug 776714] Re: Compilation artists should not be listed in artists view separately
That's really bad. There should be a simple config file to adjust which tag is used for each view. But, well, the tag "albumartistsort" for the album and "artistsort" for the single track artist exactly do what you and the librarian are worried about - listing "Mike Oldfield" as "Oldfield, Mike" and "The Beatles" as "Beatles, The" "The Drunken Sailors" as "Drunken Sailors, The"... Which still doesn't solve the capital letter issue... BTW: If you autotag with the Musicbrainz Database these aren't created automatically but edited by users. Check out the Musicbrainz Picard program - it's free and does all that (heavily customizable by settings and plugins)... yeah, you probably knew about it anyway, I get a bit offtopic here in an official bug report... (but who care's... it's not maintained anyway...) [Bug 1651294] [NEW] [Lenovo IdeaCentre A540] Doesn't poweroff on shutdown
Public bug reported: (Please forgive the length of this post, I hope this may be useful to other owners of similar computers) *Description* After switching from Lubuntu 15.10 to Lubuntu 16.04, I cannot shutdown my (Lenovo A540) computer anymore. The Lubuntu logout screen hangs indefinitely and doesn't react to any (well, at least Ctrl+Backspace, Ctrl+Alt+Fn, Ctrl+D and Ctrl+Alt+Del) keyboard key combination. I thus have to press the power button for a few (~5) seconds in order to shut it down. I didn't have this problem with Lubuntu 15.10, and don't have it with Windows 10 (dual boot), hence I believe it is software-related. *Context* Some context may shed some light about my configuration tweaks. I experienced the following problems with my Lenovo A540: 0. I can't see GRUB after installing Lubuntu (true for both Lubuntu 15.10 and 16.04) Doc: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/Unable-to-select-UEFI-Legacy-Boot-in-BIOS-Startup-ThinkPad-T540p/td-p/1670487 Fix: disable secure boot and then toggle "CSM" depending on the OS I want to use: * with CSM enabled, windows bootloader is "chosen" (maybe because it is on the first partition) a * with CSM disabled, GRUB is loaded. [Bug 1649048] Re: "Power off" required for resume from hybrid-sleep
Steven Ward, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 4.4 to 4.8 in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited analysis of the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ? Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit bisecting. Also, the kernel release names are irrelevant for the purposes of bisecting. It is most helpful that after the fix commit (not kernel version) has been identified, you then mark this report Status Confirmed. No it didn't change how it pick the default scaling, it only scales widgets to make what you described in comment #4 works better. [Bug 1649699] Re: problemas ssd kingston
You appear to be trying to install to an existing ext4 partition that is corrupt. You will need to repair it with e2fsck or reformat it. Also you seem to be using a fake raid and I would recommend against that. ** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1649699 Title: problemas ssd kingston To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1649699/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1650522] Re: walinuxagent 2.1.5 needs to have AutoUpdate On
We have tested a new package version for yakkety both installing manually and in a test image: https://josvaz.blob.core.windows.net/shared/Ubuntu_DAILY_BUILD-yakkety-16_10-amd64-server-20161214-wala215-autoupdate-1482143205-en-us-30GB Please, do test the above image from the Azure side as well. So far our tests are good and we are to start the SRU process for yakkety shortly. For xenial & trusty we anticipate the chaneg is the same, so we plan to keep them moving in paralel, a bit delayed after yakkety. Our curretn estimate is to enter SRU with them this week. ** Changed in: walinuxagent (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650522 Title: walinuxagent 2.1.5 needs to have AutoUpdate On To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/walinuxagent/+bug/1650522/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
