[Bug 1364905] Re: new item panel's "Ok" button disabled (github version works)
I do not know if this is relating to the bug, I made an account to propose something that fixed my problem which is very similar and may fix your problem. If your path has a space in it, add a \ before the space. It doesn't do this automagically so it will refuse to be made since this is an error. Also if you wish to use this .desktop file in the "open with" right click menu you will also need to add "%f" at the end of the binaries path since it also does not automatically do this either. [Bug 1658889] [NEW] Add setup instructions for Ubuntu 16
Public bug reported: I've tried to edit the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HpAllInOne page to add those instructions myself, but it says "Immutable page". Are you serious? I'm a volunteer offering my time to contribute docs, and I'm told that I can't? WTF. Not to mention that I've wasted a good 15 minutes trying to create an account on that wiki and getting the spinner - see https://snag.gy/UB2xrV.jpg Please add that on Ubuntu 16, you need to run `sudo apt-get install python3-pyqt5`. [Bug 1658350] Re: Chromium Shows Flashing Black Squares in GPU Rendering
Yes, I kept the mutter package in the GNOME3 Staging PPA for yakkety in sync with the zesty package in the regular Ubuntu archives. You can see what changed (there is one new patch) by visiting https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/ubuntu/gnome3-staging/+packages?field.series_filter=yakkety Click the arrow next to mutter and then click the diff link at the bottom of the changelog. But you diagnosed the issue as perhaps being related to graphics drivers. Why don't you file a bug against your graphics driver then? I am confused by your latest comments on the bug report. I don't understand why GDM using virtual terminal 1 has anything to do with you needing to use lightdm. (There is a bug mentioned in the Ubuntu GNOME Release Notes about an issue using NVIDIA proprietary graphics with GDM though.) What crash files? Why are you trying to restart lightdm? Why are you convinced mutter breaks after 8 days and an old, almost identical version offers infinite uptime? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658350 Title: Chromium Shows Flashing Black Squares in GPU Rendering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1658350/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1658491] Re: VLAN SR-IOV regression for IXGBE driver
This issue may be fixed by this upstream commit: commit f60439bc21e3337429838e477903214f5bd8277f Author: Alexander Duyck Date: Thu Aug 11 14:51:56 2016 -0700 ixgbe: Force VLNCTRL.VFE to be set in all VMDq paths When I was adding the code for enabling VLAN promiscuous mode with SR-IOV enabled I had inadvertently left the VLNCTRL.VFE bit unchanged as I has assumed there was code in another path that was setting it when we enabled SR-IOV. This wasn't the case and as a result we were just disabling VLAN filtering for all the VFs apparently. Also the previous patches were always clearing CFIEN which was always set to 0 by the hardware anyway so I am dropping the redundant bit clearing. [Bug 1658838] Re: Autorating screen on laptops
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1658838/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not
It occurred for me yesterday for the first time ever. I have Dell XPS netbook running 64bit 16.04, upgraded from 14.04. Been using Ubuntu for many many years on many machines, never seen this before. Symptoms: With one of my thumb-drives, I could copy/move files in terminal without any problems, but Nautilus complained about the drive being read-only. Interestingly, using Nautilus, I could still delete files I copied using terminal. Today the bug doesn't occur with the same thumb-drive. Thumb drive is not brand new (1~2 years old), but there are no problems with it as far as I can see. Between yesterday and today: I didn't shut down the system on which bug showed up, however I suspended it. Also, I used the drive with other Ubuntu machine. nautilus --version GNOME nautilus 3.14.3 lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. [Bug 1658838] [NEW] Autorating screen on laptops
Public bug reported: I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 and using an HP Pavillion 17f and it freaked me out at first, but now its annoying. I had set my down, the top was leaning back, and the screen flipped upside-down; I picked it up and leveled it, tried xrand -o commands, but the screen stayed the same. I rotated my laptop to it's side and the screen re-oriented itself, next I leveled it then tilted it towards me and it fixed itself. I often like using my laptop angled back a couple degrees and the on-by-default unconfigurable auto-rotating screen is really bothering me. On 16.04 it didn't have that behavior and the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/YakketyYak/ReleaseNotes didn't say it would do that. Also after I upgraded to 16.10, there was a new intel-microcode driver that was available that I installed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 and using an HP Pavillion 17f and it freaked me out at first, but now its annoying. [Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
I've reproduced this on a Thinkpad 410s running 16.04 LTS. The version of network-manager I used is the latest from xenial-updates: 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.3. A few comments: 1) The fwts s3 test uses a low-level API to exercise suspend/resume. I've been working with the fwts maintainer on an extension to fwts that allows it to call out to a hook script on each iteration. This makes it possible to ensure that scanning is active for each iteration. 2) I've done some preliminary testing of the version of NM in xenial- proposed (1.2.4-0ubuntu0.16.04.1), and although it looked promising at first, I was still able to reproduce the bug. 3) We're pretty sure we know which patch [1] caused the issue, and are working to determine the best way to fix it. The fix provided in comment #5 appears to resolve it, but unfortunately it breaks the original patch's behavior. @taiebot65 It sounds like you're hitting a different problem, so it'd probably be best if you filed a new bug.
