@Mitchell Tasman, Thanks for the feedback. I think we now know for sure that this bug does not happen with the upstream 4.10 or 4.11 kernels. Any commits that are in upstream 4.10 are also in the Ubuntu Zesty kernel. The Ubuntu 4.10.0-21 kernel I requested in comment #88 had all the upstream 4.
