Judging by your message in #2, unless I'm missing something, you would have not
been able to re-deploy the machine because efibootmgr had set the boot order to
the disk first. When you re-deployed the machine, MAAS told that machine that
"on the next boot, PXE boot".

My understanding is that the kernel should handle that. Otherwise,
whenever the user manually loads a different kdump kernel, a memory
hotplug would cause the default kdump kernel to be loaded, not what the
user has loaded.
Can you comment on that?

So I'm confused, wasn't the SRU supposed to have been fixed for this?
We're still getting reports of users that have a broken snapd because of
this issue, some of whom then decided to switch to privileged containers
just to avoid this problem, therefore loosing a lot of LXD's security
features

on nvidia-smi, which exists as a separate binary package in Debian but
is built into the nvidia- package in Ubuntu. Please add nvidia-smi
to the provides for each of the nvidia- packages.

I've applied the config options as in your config to our 4.13 "unstable"
kernel. There were a few differences. First a couple of new options
which I set as follows:
CONFIG_DWMAC_SUN8I=m
CONFIG_SUN8I_A83T_CCU=y
And the CONFIG_SUNXI_CCU_* options have been removed. Let me know if
anything looks
