After installing nVidia drivers, the machine boots to a initramfs prompt
in kernel 4.13. 4.10 boots fine, although the x server crashes

As I've found now the origin of '/etc/udev/rules.d/79-udev-epson.rules'
- it was installed by the epson-printer-utility for my Epson XP 540 - I
tried what happens when I switch to a more 'common' udev rule.
I tried (similiar to the rule for brother scanners provided by Hans):

Tried changing the grub command line to boot from the other disk of the
raid set. It gave me the same error on that disk, but the one I was
using previously was mountable.
Also, checked SMART data for signs of disk failure, but everything looks
fine.

Hence my confusion, llvmpipe (LLVM 5.0, 128 bits) with the radeon driver
is reported. And CAPE VERDE with the ati driver. Why would the wrong

In Privacy -> Location Services, clicking the toggle to either On or Off
and then closing the dialog doesn't cause it to show a different value
in the Privacy pane. You have to click a different pane and then go back
to Privacy to reflect the change.

Actually I wanted to check some things for myself so I installed a
system, installed the version of docker.io 1.13 that was in proposed
before this bug was fixed, verified that the 'deep-files' build failed
(thanks for the super simple test case!) in the same way as you
described, then installed 1.
The autopkgtests passed on amd64, ppc64el and i386. I've run them by
hand on arm64.
We still need to run basic tests on s390x and get word from the k8s team
that they are happy to see this migrate.

I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10 (and so switched from Unity to
Gnome 3).
I have a laptop and I sometimes use an external monitor with the laptop
closed (clamshell mode), and I sometimes use the laptop monitor with no
external monitor.
If I change my display settings, eg
Confirmed, I am seeing this everywhere that local fonts are being used.
I think it's a fontconfig or related regression.
