When filters are run that point to a folder whose name contains spaces,

I am not certain if my crash is the same as this bug, but this seems
most likely the same issue that I see when I attempt to lock my session.
Upon locking the session it immediately crashes gnome-shell. I am using
an Intel NUC.
My dmesg reports:

There is a kernel panic on startup, because of package
linux-image-4.4.0-98-generic.
Hopefully I can select an older kernel by pressing the escape key.

As of now only prime-select nvidia allows me to normally boot. But in my
case it's not lightdm, but sddm. Also worth noting is on the previous
version of Kubuntu (17.04) I was using kernel 4.10.0-21 and I was able
to normally boot
I'm pretty sure it's a TB16 dock from looking at the traces. Can you
reliably reproduce this? I have some suspicions, but would like to see
verbose fwupd output to confirm it if possible.
So try to run this:
# sudo /usr/lib/fwupd/fwupd -v
And share all of the output that is found.

Hello,
I have a Sandybridge-B970 X301-Asus laptop. I am used to dual boot on it :
win10 and Ubuntu Xenial on a 275 GB SSD.
Yesterday I manually forced shut down on win10 which looked hung on
~"preparation... do not shut down".
Windows recovered, but Ubuntu was corrupted it s
It's only xenial that is affected, that is, version 1.13.4 and perhaps
earlier. Trusty, zesty and higher are OK.

fwupdmgr error updating logitech unifying
@bigon had confirmed that 1.0.0 did fix it, which is now in master.
According to github #259 the patch linked in comment #7 on top of 0.9.x
didn't fix it however, so it could have been a combination of other
items in master that had actually fixed the issue.
