[Bug 1743966] Re: Trusty deployments fail when custom archives are configured
There are at least two ways this could be fixed: 1. To backport the cloud-init change to Trusty; note that cloud-init is backwards-compatible and widely tested, but also widely in use 2. To have MAAS generate stanzas in both formats, selecting the right one according to the ephemeral environment being used. [Bug 1742867] Re: Screen blank, audio choppy, system locked
I tried 4.15 rc8, same result. Went back one rev from my GRUB to 4.13.0-21 and saw the same result. Looking at the dmesg and syslog output, there were a lot of references to the video system. Grabbed another video card, slightly older and put that in. The fan on the one that came out didn't feel like it was spinning as freely as I would assume. Card may have simply been overheating when playing YouTube. New card has almost 1 hour of YouTube playback now with no problems on 4.13.0-25. Odd that this issue happened right with the reboot to the newer kernel, but if that's all it was then job done. [Bug 1743966] [NEW] Trusty deployments fail when custom archives are configured
Public bug reported: TLDR: when MAAS is configured to use custom archives, Trusty deployments fail. When custom archive configurations are in use, MAAS renders cloud-init config which cloud-init reads in order to set up apt details. The cloud-init config format it renders is only compatible with the cloud-init in Xenial. That version is currently: 0.7.9-153-g16a7302f-0ubuntu1~16.04.2 It looks something like this: apt: source1: source: "deb http://packages.chef.io/repos/apt/stable $RELEASE main" key: | -BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK- I fetched that example from http://cloudinit.readthedocs.io/en/latest/topics/examples.html The cloud-init version in Trusty is 0.7.5-0ubuntu1.22 and the equivalent stanza looks like this: apt_sources: - source: "deb http://apt.opscode.com/ $RELEASE-0.10 main" key: | -BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK- I fetched that example from http://cloudinit.readthedocs.io/en/0.7.7/topics/examples.html Looking at src/maasserver/compose_preseed.py:get_archive_config() it seems that MAAS only supports the Xenial-hosted version's format. [Bug 1730150] Re: Nautilus unable to see the storage in my Fuji HS30EXR PTP canera since upgrading from Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10
Update On learning that a Nautilus upgrade for Ubuntu is unlikely in the forseeable future, today I installed gphoto2, gphotofs and gtkam on one of my Ubuntu 17.10 computers, then re-tested the Fuji camera. When the camera is connected to a USB port, no notification appears and no PTP camera device appears in the Nautilus side bar. The output of lsusb displays the camera maker's name "Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd" in the line relating to the camera's USB port. Gtkam's "Add Camera" dialog can display the camera's make and model when clicking on the "Detect" button, but clicking the "OK" button gives a "Could not initialise camera" dialog. The "gphoto2 --auto-detect" command generates the camera's make, model and USB port in its output. However the commands "gphoto2 --summary", "gphoto2 --list-files" and "gphoto2 --get-all-files" each return (in part): "An error occurred in the io-library ('Unspecified error'): No error description available *** Error (-1: 'Unspecified error') ***". As of today, Ubuntu 17.04 and Fedora 27 are still mounting and reading the files on the camera correctly (Nautilus 3.20.4 and 3.26.4 respectively). [Bug 1743939] [NEW] Canon MF8380 Wireless Network Not Printing
Public bug reported: A Canon MF8380CDW printer will not print any thing after upgrading to 17.10. I ran all the steps from this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems web site. I have attached a lot of log files. Not sure which one is needed. The printer did work back under 15.10 or 16.04 but took a lot to get it fixed to work then. I have tried to print from 18.04 and it has the same problem with this printer. myuseraccount@myuseraccount-System-Product-Name:~$ /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp network socket://192.168.1.100 "Canon MF8300C Series" "Canon MF8300C Series" "MFG:Canon;MDL:MF8300C Series;CLS:PRINTER;DES:Canon MF8300 C Series;CID:;CMD:LIPSLX,CPCA;" "" myuseraccount@myuseraccount-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/dnssd [sudo] password for myuseraccount: DEBUG: sent=0, count=0 DEBUG: Querying "Canon\032MF8300C\032Series._printer._tcp.local"... [Bug 97722] Re: Windows dual-boot can corrupt system clock even if time servers are enabled
I am not sure if my issue would have the same bug report number or not but I did a search and this bug is very close to the same issue I am having. I am using dual boot with grub2, windows 7 and Ubuntu Mate 17. I mainly use windows and the clock works fine reboot after reboot no issues, and when I boot into Mate the clock works fine and has the correct time, but then when I boot back to windows the time displayed is 6 hours ahead, and if it goes unnoticed it will stay that way until I change it. This is getting very annoying, as all my previuos installs of Ubuntu and Linux on the same machine and same version of windows I did not have this problem, even after the latest updates to 17.10 I continue to have this issue. [Bug 1743929] [NEW] Kernel upgrade failing, trying to install Xenial Kernel, I am running Trusty
Public bug reported: Acer-Aspire V3-472P-324J. [Bug 1743928] [NEW] Duplicate Items When Pinning Favorites
Public bug reported: https://twitter.com/momophitas/status/953790060213817344 I recorded a video and uploaded it to Twitter for a more concise explanation. I try to drag the program after searching for it over to the bar but nothing. Then I try and use the right-click add to favorites which just makes duplicates of the program. (Ted Crockett Bible gif). How do I remove this bug? sudo apt-get -f autoremove or sudo apt-get -f remove does not remove this bug. Here is the Google TTS process to have this issue, how can I undo all of this? [Bug 1739880] Re: on wayland, mpv opens without window elements, OSD missing
Thanks for the heads up. If there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution in mpv 0.28 then I'll need to author/patch one in... or we can just stick to 0.27. But probably the former. mpv is great, but if Ubuntu is to be "for human beings" then we need to make it easier to use. So it should just work automatically. I would prefer not resort to vaapi-copy though, because last time I checked that incurred an order of magnitude higher CPU usage than plain vaapi. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1739880 Title: on wayland, mpv opens without window elements, OSD missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mpv/+bug/1739880/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
