@James Donald (jdonald) thanks for your reply .All you say is very interesting
by my remark is that I think ubuntu do not cross compile firefox for armhf ,
they just use a aarch64 (arm 64 bit ) kernel and they run a armhf Ubuntu .
I 'm not the expert but from what I talked to others they said
Also I think I'm right it is not cross compiled , you can see at the end of

That is odd. And I can see no recent reason for it in the latest diff:

It sounds like this isn't a bug in the package (which hasn't changed
since its release on 2016-03-10).
Here is the list of packages on my 16.04 system you might want to try
(re)installing:
gstreamer1.0-alsa
gstreamer1.0-clutter-3.0
gstreamer1.0-fluendo-mp3
gstreamer1.0-libav

Yes, sorry. I can confirm the bug exists in 18.04. It is trivial to
reproduce, which is unusual :(
When the screen freezes multiple process start spinning:

Thanks.
I wonder if your system has Over-Amplification stuck on (even if the GUI says
otherwise). Can you please look at Settings > Sound and make sure that:
1. 'Over-Amplification' = OFF
2. Lower the value of 'Output volume'
Can you find some combination of settings there that avoids the
backporting?

My last feeling ,is it just a aarch64 kernel with a arm64 Ubuntu xenial and
enabled multiarch so it downloads the armhf build deps . Any way like you said
, maybe a build with clang will fix it .
Let;s hope there will be a way to finaly have latest firefox on armhf .
Thank you for your interest

I believe the xsane crash is from me running it in a terminal and not
exiting nicely. I just closed the terminal before shutting it down.
