login are enough, no reboot required. With GDM, logout and sudo
systemctl restart display-manager was also enough and didn't require a
full reboot.

I too am affected now. After suspend+resume, my touchpad isn't found.
Rebooting doesn't help: I really have to turn the machine off and on
again.
I can attach mouse, and then if I try to open touchpad settings in Input
Devices settings (I use Kubuntu), it says that Touchpad isn't found, and

Bug is present for me in Xubuntu 18.04 (Kernel: 4.15.0-20-generic x86; Xfce
4.12.3; Graphics Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon R4/R5

These reports helped me to at least get one PPA maintainer to change his setup,
so that it is compatible with the packages in the archive.
This PPA is used by many people (we got at least 4 or 5 reports for it in a
quite short time). So problem solved for really many many people. Bug reports

Welp. My mouse has been working for a couple days now and has survived
multiple reboots, but the problem is that I don't know what I did to get
it working again. I just sat down, wiggled the mouse to wake it up out
of habit, and it worked. Could be a hardware issue on my end. Close this
